Drove a new M37 loaner today many miles today...impressions:

Pluses:
-The interior was much richer looking with the dark wood and big center console.
-The stereo sounded quite a bit better than the Bose system in my G. I didn't see any additional speakers, but they sounded so much clearer and richer. I love the radio in the M!
-There was more room in every direction.
-Had a neat led light that illuminated under the front door handles when I walked up to it.
-At 65-70mph, it was getting over 30mpg over a 60 mile trip. What a difference those 2 extra gears make! The same trip in the G35 gets me about 21mpg at those speeds.
-The front end and side looked nice, but I wasn't a big fan of the rear of the car.
-The base model still has a backup camera.

Minuses:
-Unless I had it in manual mode, I'd floor it and wait....and wait....and then sometimes it would grab a good gear and takeoff nicely, but sometimes it wouldn't and it would bog. Sport mode was only slightly better.
-Overall, the car felt kind of heavy (which I'm sure it is....)
-The small back window created a pretty big blind spot.
-I missed the wrapped around feeling of the G. The M has more of a cruiser feel to it and didn't inspire as much fun.
-It was a base M37, but it really should come with Nav. The screen just seemed so plain without it in that nice interior....

That's about it! Overall, the M was a nice car, but I certainly didn't fall in love with it. The G is still safe from being sold!

Is it just me or are the m series cars hard to spot? I live in ny, and almost 80% of the time I see the G on the road, its rare to see a M..... do these things not sell well?

I did see the m56, looks like a nice car. The m37 is it's predecessor right?

^1 i think its a m56 unless there is a new 57 i dont know about.

^^2 i think the main reason we see fewer M's on the road is they are considerably more expensive. i was actually gonna buy one but the options and the lower miles i could get for the same price when buying the G were a huge difference. there are also alot more after market parts for a G and you get just as much performance as the M if not more!

WOW! Make me want to go and test drive the new M37. I have nothing better to do during the week. I just sit at home doing absolutely nothing. How long did you have the M?

no, there are two models/engines the 3.7L -> M37 and then the 5.6L M56. Both are 2011.

Much like in '08 where they had the M35 and then the M45

I just turned it back in!! It was funny, I got back in my wife's G and I thought the seat was broken! I was so much closer to the roof! Weird how quickly you can acclimate to something!

I have a GREAT service advisor (doesn't hurt that his wife works at the same company) and he was grinning when he told me he hooked me up with an M as a loaner. I got an oil change, rotate, brake judder fix, and tire pressure sensor fixed on the G.

Here are a couple of pics of my red G next to the M. Also a shot of the interior--don't bust on my ugly shorts--it was morning!!

Yeah I had an M37 loaner a while ago and I was amazed at how big it felt.

Comming from a M sized car before I guess I am just more used to the size of the G.

I love the quality of the interior, it is just made with better stuff all around. I like the size, but it did feel almost too big.

I felt the car was very quick and the engine seemed more smooth than the G37 loaners I have had. I also felt that it handled fairly well for a car that size.

Per the magazine tests I have seen this car is basically the same speed as the G35/37's. But it cant handle like the G. I want to know what the M56 feels like. sub 5 sec 0-60 is SWEEET...

I just think the car is a bit over priced. And I dont think they are selling as well as Infiniti thought it would.

Great car,

I would consider one in the future especially BC they will drop like a rock depreciation wise in the next 3 years.
