Wow some of you guys would actually consider purchasing a lip for $1000+? That's one THOUSAND dollars. You can buy so much with that (well nothing big), that's a little ridiculous. I mean consider the materials, they can't be more than $50-100. Craftsmanship/labor must obviously be considered but holy _ _ _ _, the reason they charge so much is because people are willing to pay it!

 

You are paying for exclusivity. Why buy a G when you can buy a kia? Why buy a rolex when you can get a casio. I have a tommy kaira wing that costed a pretty penny, but it was worth every penny knowing that maybe 5 or less exist in the US.

From a business standpoint, charging 1600 for a LIP... is ridiculous. Not to mention they don't do business in the US, so you have to import & you pay for customs/taxes/blah blah blah. If they were in business in the US, it's a different story- because they would go through the procedures to sell here and it would cost less to the consumer. But it's their business decision to not have a factory or import/export business. That, my friends, is part of doing business. If you don't fork over the overhead to do business in a market, then you can't expect to make money from that market.

Also, I've never been an elitist and I may never be. I don't buy a lip to say " oh i spent $1500, aren't I cool?" A LIP people! It's not a body kit, not something that adds performance... a LIP. Get over it.

1- Cost is excessive due to taxes, shipping overseas, customs. FIX? AE needs to take the hit as a company and do business in the U.S. Mass ship a whole crate/cargo to the U.S. and I bet it would cost half as much as we'd pay individually to get one. There's also something called a cost elasticity. Look it up.
2- Elitist much? Sorry... infiniti is a luxury brand n nice and all, but not everyone who has an infiniti shares your sentiment here.

4 - rolex/casio kia/infiniti lip/replica lip? really? You're not making even CLOSE to the same league of comparisons. let's review.... rolex/casio are different inside and out. Kia infiniti same thing on an even bigger scale. RWD sedan with 300hp and leather seats that is very durable. Tell me how many cars can say that? THAT's why some of us bought g35s. NOW, AE vs replica?... hMMMMMMmmm?
