Oh it's only the beginning.

Check out these quality welds.

See how the sunroof just flew out of the G35 coupe. LOL

Without reading the entire post I can relate on this issue... I've had to replace two steering wheels, both front arm rests, the cluster, shift **** (understandable), now the dash on the passenger side is peeling off if you barely run your nail on it (which I caught this by accident). Lastly the drivers side molding by the right leg is popping out. I pamper the hell outta this car and have had these issues. I think another factor to this problem is that I live in Texas and the G can't handle the heat under these circumstances. Suck when your outta warrenty because you just have to live with it.

Well then I feel good about the decision I made when I got rid of the car a year ago. While I miss the power and styling of the car, I don't miss all the issues. The Infinit's have a nice look, especially when they are new but their build quality is not good. What's a shame too is that I owned a Nissan prior to the Infiniti and didn't have any of these issues. Isn't Infiniti supposed to be Nissan's premier brand like Lexus is for Toyota?

We are moving to Germany next month for 3 years so we'll see what I end up with next. I may look at a BMW or Audi while I am over there or maybe a Lexus when I get back.

And don't expect Toyota Quality from a Nissan / Infiniti vehicles.
Jibber I thought you sold your G and moved on to something else and yet we're still seeing your negative posts and how much you dislike Nissan....Why? The pic you posted weren't from your G and quite possibly from a junkyard dog. If you live in a extremely hot environment (Arizona) and leave your Infiniti outside the heat will eventually destroy plastic trim along with most your interior, that why we buy car covers. Toyota quality, yea right....

Honestly, people who b**** about the poor quality of the G35 must treat their rides terribly. I have an 06 with 57k, I'm the second owner, I treat my car well and I have zero of the problems many members have. If you're having problems with how your G is holding up, I'd look in the mirror first before blaming Nissan.

G3065 necro'd this thread from last year...I guess because he is unhappy with the recent problems his G has developed.

They fixed the trim issue some time in 2008 because some 08's have no problems. I got my door pulls and steering wheel replaced under warranty...he should do the same thing.

If they think the infiniti is bad, spend a week or two trolling BMW or Audi forums...

That's-G: The car only had 26,000 miles, and the problems started with just 4,000 miles on the car. The car was garage kept and only got around 7-8K miles a year and was in the garage the rest of the time. If the car won't hold up with putting half the annual average miles and kept in the garage the rest of the time then I doubt it is an issue with the owner or me not taking care of the car...

Well iv got 60k with no issues except for some door pull paint issue which is a common issue on the 07s and fixed in 08. Other than that the car is solid as long as you care for it a little, i dont over do on the cleaning or anything but do enough and have had no such issues.

The fact that majority are happy and only a minority have issues with this brands 'build quality' is not a bad thing, NO regular/luxury car brand/model within the middle class man's budget will have 100% happy owners or admirers so as long as you can build something thats a good bang for the buck, its worth it imo!

Maybe some meddling kids take it for a joy ride once in a while when you go off on duty? They usually have grimy paws and are never really careful with other people's property. That is my only explanation. I understand you are frustrated but I don't get how the door pulls can get so messed if it is indeed being left in the garage while you are away. Mine only chipped once when my fingernail clipped the door pull on my way in, and I've been driving mine for nearly 9,000 miles. I did encounter the dashboard warping and it was too replaced under warranty. Also if I am not mistaken, they increased the warranty period for these parts due to their common occurrences. Once replaced, I have not encountered these issues again. I recommend getting a sunshade for the dashboard though, intense sun rays aren't good for any dashboard and they appreciate the occasional re-hydration VIA interior cleaners/protectors.

+1
Considering that even if you figure in the cost of repairing/replacing some of these items out of pocket, it's still a substantial value over comparably equipped models from other supposed premium luxury makes (which of course NEVER have any issues ).

Or better yet, go browse the BMW, Benz & Audi forums and take a peak at the "Technical Issues forum" Let me know how it pans out compared to Infiniti.

I'll take some chipping over major flaws anyday.
