OP,

are those numbers one time prices or are they yearly?

My car has 44k and the Warranty expires in April. If it's really only 650 dollars for another three years, that might be worth it, especially since it supposedly stays with the car if I sell it.

Here's how it went down... when I was in with the financing guy, he came up with the additional stuff I could buy. All of my past cars have been non dealer pre owned, so I never even heard of these extended warranty plans. He told me that the 4 yr 60k factory warranty has the most items covered, and the cpo coverage upto 100k does not cover electronics. He stated that the elite extended would be like the 4yr 60k warranty, but better because its extended out to 100k w/ another year. So I bought it believing in what he told me.

When I called Infiniti, they told me to read the brochure which I was not provided with at the point of sale, but instead it came 2 months afterwards. Reading that really explained nothing to me.

I called Infiniti today, and some moron told me Infiniti does not sell policies that go out over 100k. Ever. I told her that I have acually seen on my paperwork, a option for 120k but she insisted it is not from Infiniti and there's no way.... wouldn't even let me speak to another person.

So how am I supposed to get a straight answer from these guys?

There is an option that goes to 120k. I know because I have it. I even have the warranty screen printouts for my car with VIN stating that I'm covered to 120k miles. Whomever told you that was entirely uninformed.

I am on the fence on the warranty, and my warranty is up next month. While I am very confident on the mechanical side, I am a little worried about any electrical gremlins that might pop up. I imagine the warranty would pay for itself for something minor like the CD ejector motor burning out.

you can get the warranty up until your powertrain runs out, which for my 08g, its' 70k miles. got a price from an online infiniti dealer found here (can't remember the name) that was about 40% lower than the same plan that my local infiniti dealer is asking for. thinking of asking my local Inf. dealer to pricematch.

from what i remember, the pricing was:

w/ $0 deductible
$790 for 12 mths/12k
$1200 for24 mths/24k
$1750 for 36mths/36k

prices were about $40 lower if you had a $50 deductible, or $70 lower with a $100 deductible.

anyone comment on how fair/good/bad these prices are?

If you call Infiniti of Scottsdale and say that you are a member of g35driver, you will get an under $1600 quote for 36m/36k with ZERO deductible. Same warranty.

So let me ask... how much is the price for an extended warranty if u have 58K miles on the car.. My warranty runs out at 60K or 5 years.. i haven't had it 5 yet, but i'm right close to the 60K.. can I even still get a warranty?

hey, so those prices i listed were from the scottsdale, az group, i just checked my email.

my 08 g has just about 57k miles on it, so those were the prices. i was told by the infiniti dealer, you can purchase an elite plan right up until 70k miles, when you factory powertrain warranty runs out. prices do vary though, depending on your mileage, and i just read that if you buy a plan from another dealer (i.e. out of state), you might have to pay $100-150 for an infiniti inspection.

I thought the Infiniti warranty was 60K or 4 years. If you're not at 60K you can still get the warranty... but if it's 4 years (and not 5) you may be too late to get the same extended terms. The price for the extended Elite plan is the same no matter what mileage you have as long as your car still under factory under 60K miles/under 4 years. After it is out of warranty, they no longer offer the same pricing or plan lengths (what you get is 2 years with higher premiums). I was also told that the prices will increase after April 2011, FWIW.

Right, I had to pay $120 to get the inspection done at my dealer. However, Scottsdale gave me $150 off for telling them that I was a g35driver member (the warranty rep's name I spoke with is Courtney). Given that my dealership was charging over $2K for the same 36month/36k extended plan, going with Scottsdale was a no brainer. In addition, my car was 20 miles or so over 60K and they were nice enough to ignore this on and gave me the same terms as if I was under 60K.

I'm confident in the drivetrain but maybe the auto... its the ICC, adaptive front lights and the Nav unit. That hard disk is bound to crash at some point and I imagine they replace the whole unit when they do. Has anyone cloned the drive yet for archive? I need to look around. There was some QNX hacking discussion years ago. Most I ever did was with an old 3Com Audrey.

If you are over 21, go for it. If you are under, don't waste your money. I got screwed big time because only certain things are allowed being under 21.
