Backup Accident - New Exhaust Options

So the other day i was backing up into a K turn in a small parking lot but backed into a curb that i thought was a lot smaller then it actually was. Long story short - My tanabe medallion was pushed in a great amount on the passenger side bending and twisting the rest of the exhaust. It was driveable, besides the fact that the pushed in exhaust tip was basically melting away my rear bumper when I did drive it.

So now I need a new exhaust and I've searched and read every thread on this forum about exhausts and I've concluded that I want either the invidia gemini or the FI cat backs.

I have an 08x, I know that changes things. Which one should I get, which one CAN I get?

I want coupe like sound - just like everyone - with minmal to no drone but not that much louder then the coupe. I'd like some power gains too but I understand that's not noticeable anyway. From what I've read the Fast Intentions or the newly redesigned Invidia Gemini seem to be the best for what I want.

thanks everyone in advance.

cliffnotes:
- accident
- need new exhaust
- FI or Invidia
- I have an X awd
- Price not a concern

if price is not a concern like you've stated, then FI is the obvious choice (they make one that fits the x as well). the invidia doesn't fit the x (although they are in the works of making one)

I mean if there are other exhausts out there that can offer the same characteristics and fit an AWD I'd be glad to look at those options too.

But for now, if the Invidia doesn't work with my X then I guess FI is the way to go.

There is also stillen that fits the AWD, but if you really want the invidia exhaust there are ways to make it fit if you can spend the money.

From what I've read the quality of stillen is not that great and it seems too loud and raspy for my taste. I'v personally never heard it though so I'm not sure.

I'm assuming one of the pipes has to be bent to on the Gemini to get around the transfer case. How would this be done and how much would it cost?

From what I've seen is that a new custom Y pipe has to be made and install that in place of the other one. You probably looking at spending somewhere about $250+ including installation.

Has anyone done that?

I'd be interested in taking that route but at that point the price difference between the FI and this would be minimal. The invidia would have to be that much better then the FI for me to do that but from what I've read they're both just as good.

cost not an issue?? FI is a no brainer. just make sure all your brackets arent bent up from the accident. Tony will be able to completely customize to your liking, whether you want oval or round cans, angled or rolled tips etc...

Well I decided on FI. Like Austin said, it really seemed like a no brainer.

Thats interesting to hear about the tips - I already placed my order but maye I'll call him back if I decide on a preference.

What are the standard tips that come with FI, anyone have any pictures?

Thanks for the pic i like the look of the rolled tips - i had the tanabe axle back before and although I liked the tips they looked too aftermarket i guess for my taste.

How long does it take to get custom tips made?
