How long do these cars last, typically?
This is reassuring. The paint doesn't bother me TOO much....any G I've ever seen around here has looked great, even the older ones.
Every time I try to find another car that is comparable to this one, my research always points directly back to the G series. RWD, decent mileage, speedy, looks fantastic, reasonably priced, holds resale value, etc. etc.....I can't really find anything that beats it.

^Thats my problem. I look at the BMWs, they are common and way more expensive to own. Lexus are boring and super soft, Audis are slow and overpriced, Acuras are wrong wheel drive with weak transmissions, etc etc.
I really wanted an IS350 but my local Lexus dealer did nothing but jerk me around until I gave up.
I moved on and bought the family MDX. A year later, I started my search for a car again and landed back at Acura. They tried so hard to make me love the TL, including 7 different cars they let me borrow for the day... including the Type S.
I just couldn't fall for it.
The 3 Series was overpriced with options and my friend's Audi was a nightmare for him so that scared me a bit.
I test drove the G after the 7th TL and never looked back.... the decision was made.

IMO the G is just the perfect blend of Luxury and performance. They are like the japanese BMW except they are a few thousands less than a BMW with near identical performance times.
To this day, I'v yet to see a sedan ranked closer to the BMW 3 series (the benchmark) than the G35. The others just cannot get close. And the G does it all for cheaper. It is just a perfect car. Reliable, fun, luxurious, stylish. Bam. Perfect.

My pleasure. This car is a best buy for luxury sports cars, you can't beat the performance and the quality for the money. However, other than the engine unless you get the Premium package I feel that they are just average luxury car. Whenever I get a loaner from the dealer without the Premium package I can't wait to get my car back.

Although the AWD definitely helps and feels solid in the rain..
like many said the car can/should last a long long time if regular maintenance is done(fluid, belts, plugs etc) as for the paint... it is definitely weaker compared to merc's and bmw's but nothing major like some cited, it depends on how much you care for it, if you apply a coat of wax every now and again you will be fine.
The paint actually is pretty good and shiny, its just a weak clearcoat, other than the front bumper and partial hood(rock chips form everyday driving in construction area) every other part of my cars paint is in near great condition after over 4 years!
If your bumper and hood is in good condition then i HIGHLY recommend spending a grand extra and getting a clear bra, you will thank me down the road!
Other than that you will be very happy with your purchase as the vehicle provides reliability, luxury, sportiness and respectable resale.

I don't know why people always ask this question when the vast majority of folks will trade a car in after 5-6 yrs, and even a KIA will last that long. Nothing against KIA but they were ****ty when they first came out but things have changed for the better a looong time ago.

I'm pretty OCD about knowing EVERYTHING about a vehicle before I purchase it. I spent 3 months of research on the truck, in fact. The only one I didn't research and wish I had was the G6.
