ok just figured out how to reply to indiv messages.

Although it is a 08 the car did not go into service until august of 09. So the 4 year (60k miles) warranty goes through August 2013. I am not sure why the car did not go into service right away, I don't think that should raise any red flags? ?

don't let them bs you with, "this is best we can do!" the trick is, tell them you are qualified for only $25000 loan, and the best you can do is $26500. also, don't let them bs you with tax and license craps. ALWAYS negotiate for OTD price! this is just from personal experience, and has always worked for me.

if this is the cleanest G you have seen and the price is about the same with others, just go for it!! i wouldn't worry about a couple hundred more if it is the color that you like and the features that you want. Otherwise you'll regret it if it is gone. and you'll have to start your search all over again. just my opinion.

No red flages about that. The in-service is Aug 09 because that's when it was sold to the first customer. Not because it's an 08 means it will be sold in 08. I wouldn't worry about that. You are correct about the warranty however, it starts from the in-service date regardless of how long it was originally sitting on the dealers lot before being originally sold.

as an exemple, I paid my G35X 2007 with premium package (Montreal,Canada) 19600CAD$ black on black, so I think its a bit high for just a year

XS's are tough to find so I'd do it if the price is right.

It's not too low. If anything, it's a little high. I'd wait for them to call you back. $25k OTD is probably what I would be willing to pay for it.

For comparison, I bought my '08 G35 with 38000 miles in August 2010 for $20k ($21.5k OTD). Granted it's a base model, though.

EDIT: Oops, it was $22.5k OTD.

D'oh! I misspoke. It was $22.5k OTD. I'm in WA which has 10.5% sales tax on cars, I think. Nice catch

The price does seem decent. There is no way you're gonna find a '08 G35XS with 23,000 miles in pristine condition for $25,000 OTD. If you do, I'd worry about something being covered up, i.e. accident, mechanical issues, etc.

Thanks again for all your help guys! This forum is awesome! I am waiting for a callback today to see if they lower their original offer. As of now the most I am willing to pay is 26,500-27,000 otd.

I am thinking if I do overpay a bit, it might be worth it because the car is under warranty for 2.5 years. And the power train warranty will run for 4.5 years. I do not put much mileage on my car, so I will not hit the mileage number before the date.

I don't know how used car prices compare in different areas, but i am thinking that me being located 15 miles from Chicago might cause the prices to be a bit higher then some other areas..

THanks for the info. I was just kind of curious of why it would have sat for so long without being sold. To me personally it adds alot of value to the car because most 08's I look at have a year or less left on the orig warranty, while this one will got through 2013. Thanks again.

Btw... if they aren't willing to come down, have them throw in new brake pads and or tires instead. Some dealerships rather give inventory away than money

Trust me man,, I really want to! But as of now their best offer was 28,400 otd! The salesman said he was going to call me today, and I hoping he lowers his offer a bit, and we can meet somewhere in the middle. (27k?) I have been looking for g's now for almost a month! I want one bad, and this is the nicest one I have found..

Be sure to post a lot of pics of your G when/if you get it. Good luck with your purchase.
