Drain my Tank

I need to drain my 07 35 tank. I used some pump from home depot, but taking forever. Is there a way I can activate the fuel pump so it will continuously pump? I need to drain due to bad gas. Thanks in advance for any help.

Why you think you got bad gas?

run the fuel lines to a bucket and turn the key to the on position.

^ no he said he got some bad gas... "i saw the gas was orange with chunks..."

You should have been able to siphon out the gas easily not sure why that didnt work, this is a good idea and should work but is a bit more work imo.

i turned the key on but the pump stays on only about 10 sec or so...i then decided to try to jumper the red and blk wires going to the pump...worked wonders...didnt want to try either cuz i was not sure, but i went out on a limb and it worked.

i was empty, got gas, and then the gas i got was orange and full of chunks or they filled their tanks with diesel by mistake, so draining and cleaning, then adding new gas with heet.

^ wow that sounds awful! you should go back to the place you got the gas from with a sample and try to get some small settlement out of this glad it worked out for you though.

This may or may not be your case but it's always advisable to *not* get gas while the delivery truck is filling the ground tanks. The rush of gas into the tanks can stir up any sediment at the bottom and you can bet that those tanks are never cleaned out. Even so, I would have thought that the filter system in the stations pump would have strained anything out.

Anyway, good luck....

Mike
