'08 G35 sedan A/T to '11 BMW 335is 6MT
Pretty good deal - Most BMWs, including Ms, can be had for close to or about $500 over invoice. They also have killer lease deals.
Sweet looking car. From everything I've read the 335i is pretty much the benchmark in its class.
I would love to know how the BMW coupe compares with the G coupe. The steering and handling on my coupe (6MT with sport suspension and LSD) are noticeably better than those on my G35X so it makes me wonder if the G and BMW coupes might be close in terms of steering and handling. I do not find that my coupe is any more powerful than the X so I'd guess the BMW is still tops there.
My coupe rides rough though and I've heard that the beauty of the BMW 3 series is that they handle well and yet still maintain a civilized ride quality.
Susprised to hear about the smoothness of the engine. Would have expected it to be waaay better than a G. Both my coupe and my X sound like they are going to fly to pieces above 5k rpm.

Really? My G sounds powerful at 5K.....will sound even better when my R2C gets here

A G will ride rougher than a 3 series

I'm surprised about your impression on how your engine sounds above 5K on your VQ35HR and VQ35DE motors. I felt my G pulled very hard to redline w/o too much ruckus. The SR20DE in my G20t felt like it was going to explode when I redlined it.
The BMW inline 6 is smoother, but IMO, not substantially more so than a VQ35HR motor like the magazines claim. In fact, I would gladly trade to have slightly more roughness similar to the VQ's engine if it meant the BMW would pull hard to its redline of only 7K RPM.
