like many said the "----" out of miles sign will come on varying on how you are driving at that moment, but i believe that infiniti has a 2 gallon reserve tank that the computer does not account for when calculating miles left and if you are driving hard at that moment when the light comes on then you could have anywhere between 2-4gallons left.

However, you should not really wait that long to fill up cause when you start driving with that little gas, all the "junk" on the bottom of the tank is sucked up that can start to clog up the filter and hamper performance.

Experience here, just happened last Friday in Minnesota.

Drove from a southwest suburb of Minneapolis to Northfield, MN about an hours drive away. Northfield is south of Minneapolis, and about 10 miles off 35W at most. When I started the car for the trip back to work my trip meter said I had 35 miles left. By the time I got to the highway the *** came on! I was driving 50 mph on a county road not being aggressive it went on....So something funky happened at the end of that trip meter. Drove less than 10 miles when it said I had 35 left before *** happened.

As usual the gas gauge showed I had like an 1/8 of a tank left, and I proceeded to drive all the way back home on ***, about 50 miles and only put in 17.8 gallons. I'm going off memory on the amount I put in but it was close to that mark.

(I got 24.5 mpg that tank too! It was my experiement with hypermiling. Turns out coasting to stop signs and driving no more than 5 over the speed limit actually does work. who knew??)

The most ive put in my car is 17 gallons. After the low fuel warning comes on i tend to be a little easier on the gas. Nothing worse than having a modded luxury car and breaking down on the side of the road because your dumb/broke *** couldnt afford to put gas in it. That isnt the case for me, fortunately, but my car is pretty well known around here and people would talk lol
