They are replacing camshaft today. They are just guessing at this point as they still don't know... If it isn't the camshaft it will be another 1-2 weeks. **** this!

The rep even said they have never seen anything like this on an 07 before...may have gotten a dud guys

After their attempt at replacing the camshaft, and assuming that doesn't work, You should demand either a whole new engine or a whole new car.

I don't think the camshaft is the issue but who knows. I have been reading about it online. None of those noises usually comes from that...ill know tomorrow if i get a call or not..no call and it wasn't the camshaft

My question...maybe a stupid one...once they replace a part say the camshaft and try the engine..do they leave that new part in even though it wasn't the problem?

Don't think a replacement car would occur, barring several other major components going south, but a new engine should be the next step.
Good luck, I'm sure your patience is really shot

Yeah, hopefully you will get a whole new engine. I've read that many 1st genners got new engines for other problems so it is not like Infiniti doesn't do that sort of thing. You always wonder about an engine that's been worked on and if it'll be as reliable as one that never had your problems, even when yours gets fixed.

This is why i now have to get the extended protection. I know these are reliable cars..but after this i just wont trust it 100% you know

Still no call so it probably wasn't the camshaft...didn't think it was

Just an update:

Wasn't camshaft..even i knew that from 10 min of research on google. So i called Infiniti Consumer Affairs again..i explained the situation. She said what i am going through it very rare. As in the way the dealership is treating the issue even though she said she has heard of this before. So on Monday i will be getting a call from a middle man who i will be in contact with instead of the dealership. He will call me every 2 days to give me updates and will see if a rep really did look at my car and if the dealership is doing the right thing. I gave her my VIN # and she said there was nothing on the notes in regards to a rep actually looking at my car. She said he may have been there for another issue and looked at mine. But i bet you the dealership gave me a BS line once again lying about a rep even being there. Hopefully with this next step it will move faster but probably not. I don't trust a thing the dealership is telling me. So hopefully this guy will clear it up.

Maybe they'd treat you better if you took off your scary mask??
Sucks that you're getting the runaround, hopefully you'll get some truth coming your way soon and get this thing back in your driveway. Aproaching a month w/ still no solid idea what's truly going on w/ your motor has to be very unnerving. Hopefully their service department is competant and can get this solved, a new motor is not an unreasonable request if they don't figure this out soon.

Even if i demand a new engine..they still won't do it. It's not the dealerships job to do what the customer demands if they said they are following their "guidelines". I already hinted at the idea of a new engine. Unless Infiniti or they decided to do it. Nothing coming from my mouth will help unfortunately

Hopefully they don't put in a "reman" motor if it's replaced.

U would think its just cheaper to get a new engine rather than having a car occupy the space and a technician for a month... think about the wasted man hours... what a bunch of morons at this dealership
