Road trip from Denver to Huntington Beach.
Of course I checked all fluids, tire pressure, and emergency kit. Fresh wash and wax (half ***), beef jerky and water. Check the weather report. Bad news, huge storm in California moving into Nevada and Utah. Butterflies!!!!
Infiniti owner as of October and I was really eager to see how the G performed on the long haul. The trip in my opinion pushed the G to its limits. Everything from the Canyons in Glenwood Springs with wet roads to 100 miles of snowpacked, unplowed highway in the middle of a blizzard in Utah.
Just outside the Colorado border I was able to open up and cruise at 100mph. The car loves running at that speed and will do it all day long. I averaged 21.5 miles per gallon which kinda sucks I think, although I was lead footed the entire way. My top speed was 125, didn't push it too hard. No overheating, no flat tire, no engine noise, no electrical trouble, nothing.
The unplowed 100 mile stretch from Green River to the I-15 juntion was long and snowy. Passing semi's, vans, and cars was tough because the 2 lanes were made into 1 (as u can see in the white pic). That was climbing a high pass in that pic. Passing meant me going onto the left shoulder in 3-4 inches of powder, it felt like I was on my snowboard. Silent and smooth like butter. I just cruised at 50 the entire way. The car did excellent. I used snow mode minimally.
I was running with an Evo for 15-20 minutes @ 70-80 mph with rain in Nevada. He started HYDROPLANING and spun around facing me @ 80. He slammed into the Mountain backwards, up 15 feet into the air, down onto the guardrail and landed in the fast lane. Rain and car parts flying everywhere. I stopped in front of the car on the highway to help. CRAZY, INTENSE, TOTALLED, wish I had a pic, to0 intense to remember the camera. The kids inside were on their way to vegas and unharmed. They should have died, a canyon was on the other side of the guardrail. Could have been way worse. One kid had a warrant so I gave him a ride to Vegas. Silly I know.
The performance difference in CA is phenomenal due to the elevation change from 5500 feet to sea level. I even did a 0-60 video for myself because of the difference. I see G's everywhere, no x's, but nice g's everywhere. Beautiful ones that put mine to shame. *** that. . Nothing beats PCH on a nice day so the trip was great. Saw all my family, ate some in-n-out, and was on my way back. Loved the trip.

So what was the diff in the 0-60 times? I am curious..
Yeah this car is a beast. You do have to remember that you were doing a lot of Mt. Climbing and it sounded like you did not baby the car at 65-80 the whole trip so 21mpg is not bad. But in other cars it would have been better.
Post up the videos...
Sounds like you had a good time..
thnx.

Wish I knew the difference for sure but it feels like a full second difference going 0-60. Now that my car is tuned I want to go back to feel what the motor is fully capable of. Good times. I can run a 0-60 time up here in Denver and we can compare that to the normal 0-60 reviews. I think it is usually around 5.1 seconds at sea level.
