somebody just stole my wheels so i gave insurance an estimate from dealer for wheels,tires,lugs,center caps, tpms 4400$ they sent me a check for 480$+ my 500 ded... they told me they found a set of wheels with tires on ebay and thats how they got their estimate .. wtf? is that normal? now im fighting with them about it

Who do you have? Sounds so wrong. Ask them to supply the parts. Need to be sure they are Like kind quality wich will the same or lesser milage.

 

erie insurance. i told them i refuse to put some used ebay tires on my car and at minimum i want used oem wheels. my tires were about new

the worst part is the total lack of communication on their part, they dont return calls and dont answer questions

Getting wheel/tire comparables off of ebay is utterly rediculous and not an acceptable way to price out aftermarket parts. This is an issue you should fight and you should win.

After this issue is cleared up, change your insurance provider asap.

 

yes I agree. I told the agent I was insulted with the 480$ and the ebay issue. I am currently shopping around for new insurance

 

i know this almost goes without saying, but i've heard of cases where it's happened.. cashing the check is legally accepting their offer so don't do it..

i had to deal with state farm for 3+ months regarding an accident where the other driver was at fault.. they accepted one of my offers but made a "clerical error" in the release form by putting $4000 instead of $4500.. yeah, right.

I have the check on the fridge lol its not moving anytime soon. wow 3 months huh I hope i can get this taken care of sooner, its already been about 3 weeks since they were taken.

 

damn get with one of the big 3 insurance companies so you dont have to deal with this BS next time, but good luck I hope it gets sorted out! was there any damage to the car itself? was it propped up on something?

That sucks man...

I am suprised they gave you such a low bid especially since the tires you proabaly had cost more than $480 bucks. Along with the fact that even used most wheels are like $100 to $150. So that right there is warrant to ask for close to $2g's.

I think your $4k estimate may be a bit high... but $980 bucks is insulting.

BTW... WHO THE HELL would steal the G35x 17 inch wheels.? Did you have the 17's? I mean they are nice, but they would not make a car stand out that much.... geezzz what a bunch of losers...

If you had the 18's or 19's on your car maybe... but not the 17s.

yes thats my whole point to them, my tires alone are worth more. I got the dealer est knowing they would take a good amount off but wow ... hahah thats what im saying who the heck steals stock 17 inch wheels, they were ok but ehh. they basically want to get me used wheels and tires from ebay and be done with it, i asked him where on ebay did u see my wheels for less the 200 each ?? he said they found while package for 900 and the amount given would even pay for shipping lol like i was supposed to thank him for including the shipping $ lastly i looked on ebay and only see one package and it says 2003-2007 g35 wheels 699+200 shipping, could this be what they are talking about? best part is they are from the v35 gen lol not mine
