For those of you that prefer the valentine, how much does the arrows really help just out of curiuosity?
What's better, the Escort Redline or the 9500?
Read some reviews that said the Redline is better than the 9500 at detecting cops at highway speeds because it has a longer range.

I never had the v1 for more then a few days but I used to own the k40 calibre which had lights indicating a cop being either in the front or the back and it was pretty useful. It isnt necessary but its nice to know where the cop is coming from. If your speeding and hes speeding up behind you or if hes camped out a couple hundred feet in front - knowing that when speeding could make a difference but in all honesty once the radar goes off, wherever its coming from, people tend to slow down regardless haha.

Beltronics makes great radar detectors. I have the discontinued sti-r and that did better then all in its tests in the past couple of years. But the difference in performance now with these new detectors is negligable at best when comparing that plus some of the new incredible features.

I have gotten about 3 tickets in the last 2 years, and they were all laser, the radar gave me a sense of security and that is what caused my tickets I think. Now a days I dont speed much, but I like to have my radar with me at all times. Like a security blanket you dont want to get rid of

i've had the escort 8500 for a few years now, and it's definitely paid itself off several times over as I haven't gotten a ticket since I've got it. Seems like the two most popular ones these days are the 9500 and the valentine. I'll look into those in the future and stick the 8500 in my wife's car considering she's the one getting the speeding tickets these days.
Even the laser detector has saved me even though you don't have much time to respond. The closest was after weaving through slow traffic in both lanes of the highway, I finally hit open road and started going about 85 when the laser noise started blasting. I hit the brakes but was confused because I couldn't see any cops anywhere (it was daytime). Eventually I see the douche standing on an overpass and after I pass by, i look back and see about 4 or 5 cop cars waiting on the on ramp to the highway.

cops are getting smarter these days.. My brother just got pulled over and ticketed in PA for speeding. The cop didn't use a radar, he used a simple physics equations. D= V/T. They marked off a 50 ft section on a street and then hide and clock your time. If you go pass the 50 ft in too fast of a time, you're F'd. He got a ticket and the cop showed him the math and everything. Fu*k the po-lice!
