You guys think Dr. Colorchip works better than Nissan/Infiniti touch up paint/pen? I'm really in need of something, too many scratches to stand anymore.

I've always wondered this myself, especially when dealing with the Blue Slate paint color.

*this post inspired by my blithering lummox of neighbor and his white Ford truck. I contemplated revenge, but after having the misfortune of renting a F150 Uhaul truck, I think karma has already struck....

how much testing is done with the Dr. Colorchip? I used a Color Coat 2000 (remember that?) on my ford mustang, and it looked great..... then I wrecked the front bumper, which happened to be the same place I used the touch up color coat 2000, and the body shop advised that whatever is in the color coat 2000 will NOT let paint adheare to the bumper, now perhaps I was naive, but it cost 200 more dollars to paint it, but had to be SOME truth to it, because Color Coat 2000 agreed to pay my costs, and then they went belly up some time later....
I know our touch up paint is pretty decent, have not had any customers complain about it.... but it's always buyer beware when you try those other options

I've used the infiniti oem touch up paint and it's still going strong almost 2 years later. Ease of use is where things like dr colorchip excel. You can tell where I used the touch up paint, but it looks better than the bare scratch marks on my front bumper caused by some idiot that can't park.

i'm gonna try the dr. colorchip on my G soon. has anyone seen the APPLIED COLORS VIDEOS? i'm gonna use their method using the bondo spot putty and then use the dr. colorchip to paint with. on the scratches i have that are down to the metal.
i know the dr.colorchip wont fill the scratches but it seems to match peoples car very good. instead of buying the applied colors kit which is 1000bucks. i called and just got paint leveler and some bondo squeegees for the job. anyone think this would work??

Here is the applied colors video.

Thanks for the post. I have a deep scratch from my garage door on my rear bumper and no amount of touchup is going to work on the surface imperfection. I'm going to try that bondo trick! Not sure what "paint leveler" is would guess that's some sort of mild paint thinner.

I have had pretty good luck with the drcolorchip on several cars. Used it to successfully repair a few tiny little specs on my hood right after I got my G a few years ago, also fixed road rash on my old BMW before that and a WR Blue WRX before that and it worked great.

I was just clay/polish/waxing my Red 07 S today and I literally have 1 paint flaw on the whole thing. that is with me driving over 20k a year since I got the car...clear bra FTW! clear bra has a few dings in it but on my last 4 cars all the hwy driving just ate the bumpers up.

I highly recommend drcolorchip but like someone said, you have to take the time to do everything like they tell you to get the great results.
