i have a rust spot on the trunk in between the chrome strip and the trunk itself. i'm out of bumper to bumper warranty (it's an '07) and the dealer is saying that this isn't covered under the 7 year corrosion warranty.
just wondering if anyone has had this problem as it seems to be a design issue. apparently, the chrome strip moves slightly when the trunk is closed hard and that rubbing causes the paint to chip. this is what the guy at the dealership told me.
seems odd to me that there doesn't seem to be any chipping of the paint, the paint is just bubbling..

Thats bull, more and more ppl are starting to get rusting issues on their trunks, this HAS to be covered under the 7yr corrosion warranty, take more pics, call the corporate office talk to them and email them the pics and point them towards this forum and cite that a lot of ppl are starting to have this problem and it has to be covered. Be firm but NOT rude and they should come through on this one.
