Mo mods, mo problems?
I was driving a camaro that set off car alarms when I revved it. (i still have the car) and I only got one speeding ticket and pulled over 2 times in total. the speeding ticket I deserved too. he actually cut the speed I was going for the ticket. was 84 in a 65 he made it 77 in a 65.
I mean besides the way the point was made, it is a good one. It does depend on the area I guess and what kind of mods you put on, but cheaper cars alone I feel won't catch a cops attention. But a modded cheaper car that someone younger might be driving - that to a cop yells trouble.
A more expensive car that is modded will definitely catch some attention but I feel like its no where near the attention a modded corolla would get. This is just my opinion I really have no solid proof for this idea.

I can vouch for this...the problem with modded cars above all things is that they stand out in a crowd like a sore thumb. But you make it worse by driving like a d!ck...
Moral of the story = theres nothing wrong with having a modded car but just remember that if your gonna do something stupid be ready to pay for the consequences and you will get noticed easier.
