I am currently in the market for an 07 or 08 G35 "S" sedan.

1. Do all the cars from those years have a "Bose" speaker grill on the rear package tray?
2. Or do only the cars that have the Bose "Studio on Wheels" have the Bose grill on the rear package tray?
3. Is there another way to tell if the car has the "Studio on Wheels" option?
4. More than likely the car I get will not have the factory Nav unit, are there aftermarket Nav units that do not have radios that install cleanly in the G35 sedans?
5. Where is the mp3 SD card slot?
6. What stereo option does the SD card slot come with?

It is actually a CF card slot but yes, it only comes with navi.

 

1/2) Only cars with studio on wheels should have the bose symbol on speaker. The standard speakers are not branded.
3) Studio on wheels has ten speakers, whereas the other has less... studio on wheels will have a speaker on top of the dash above the lcd unit would be the easiest way to differentiate as far as I can think of.

Could someone post some pics of their "Studio on Wheels" speakers that you can see on the inside of the car.

Two of the potential cars that I am looking at are from non-Infiniti dealers and they don't know (or do I) what options are what.

There are adapters out there. I'm considering picking one up myself, since I'm a photographer my CF cards are pretty much all tied up in my cameras, but I have a dozen SD cards around here I don't use that I wouldn't mind holding music on for the car.

Now -I- wish that the music box would copy from CF cards.

Eric, my S is dressed out with every option except 4WAS. My system only has the Bose logo on the hatshelf speaker, none of the door speakers or tweets have it. It is Studio on Wheels, with Navi, CF, Music Box, XM, single disc in-dash with a six pack in the boot.

Hate to keep asking dumb sounding questions, but I dont want to assume anything and as it is not a new car and one of the cars that I am looking at is at a Lexus dealer, the salesmen aren't very versed on the Infinities!

2. If I'm not mistaken, XM and Music Box are included with the Navigation package.
2.2 Press the AM/FM/SAT button under the LCD screen until an XM channel appears. Even without an active subscription, you should still have channels 0, 1, and 257.

 

Soo? Is XM only available if the car has the Nav package?

I'm not 100% sure on that one, but the center stack controls on non-navi models don't have a button labeled for satellite radio control.

 

You do not need nav for XM, I think all you need is the Bose system, not sure if the lower stereo has it as well. I have premium package with no nav and I have xm.

 

So my wife found a pretty good site that has the descriptions of the G35 options and we get it figured out that the G35s were available with XM (I listen to baseball) without getting the Nav.

Now, what does your non-Nav unit say on the buttons? AM/FM/SAT? or is there a seperate button for the SAT function?
