Squeeky belt..does anyone have a quick fix??

Good Afternoon,

Lately when starting the car one of the belts(at least this is what I think it is) is squeeking every 2 seconds..as I increase the speed the squeek will increase as well. Thought one of the belts might be wet but after a dry spell I dont think thats the problem Anyone experiencing something similar?...

Just as the warrenty expires all hell is breaking loose.

Maybe it's time to replace them. It's a 30K mile requirement by the book. Of course some will say you can go longer, and maybe you have! Squeak squeak. Could also be the tensioner/pulley/Alt bearing or waterpump bearing. Since the belt goes around all those tings it's hard to tell which one is causing the squeaking.

Mine is at 35k and so far it still looks new... I figured i'd change mine when it starts getting frizzy around the edges

Mine looked fine but started to emit some chirps in the morning. I replaced belt and noise went away.

^ like they said you might have to replace the belt, i keep telling myself to do it but keep forgetting and the belt is still visibly fine at over 53k miles. but its a cheap easy DIY which should be done around 45k or when it looks worn out/squeeky imo.

i put a DIY in the DIY section. i think the belt was $24 or $30 if i recall. should take you 20 minutes to do with the right tools.

if you absolutely have to wait then buy some belt dressing to spray onto the belt from autozone, pepboys, where ever.
