29.1 mpg
I do 75% highway and 25% streets, and when I am on the highway I am always doing 70 minimum and I frequently floor the accelerator... its too fun not to
Just hope my engine oil changes and tranny flushes keep up with me.
I avg 18.3 overall....

So, I reset my MPG average before leaving work this evening. I had the AC on and drove close to the speed limit along a backroad that was somewhat hilly. The speed limit was 50 for about 6 miles then down to 45 for 4 miles and then down to 40 for 2 miles. The average came out to 26.5. Honestly, that's pretty good considering the performance potential under the right foot just a step away.
considering the fact that some of those islands are as big as some peoples back yard.............why do you need a car on the island anyway?
ok can someone please tell me how all these people getting high 20s mpg???? i didnt even get high 20s with a 2000 honda accord auto. the best i got was lik e24-26 doing jsut highway. i just got a 08 g35 x sport a few months ago and i have not even gotten over 20mpg. im getting like 15-18mpg mix city and highway. i even did a mainly highway tank and still only got like 19-20. i know all of you cant possibly just be driving like grandmas all the time. i dont go nuts and floor it or anything. ill go like 70-80 on the highway. i work from home so i dotn drive too much. fill up like every 7-10 days. i have been keeping tabs since i got the car and im never getting over 300 before the warning goes on. i prob would hav eon the highway tank but i filled up before it got that far. I think the best i got was like 296 last week. even you mix driving guys are saying over 20! whats the deal. i got my car from a dealer in long island it had 29k and i had it certified pre owned so all the stuff was changed and all that.
Maybe because I hate riding the bus, we don't have train, and I can afford a car lol
Yea, it only takes about 8 hours to go around the island I live in, but I used to live in NY and I do more driving now then when I lived there.

I'm trying like crazy to get good mileage and its hard with these cars.
Drive super easy. Accerate super easy. Keep the speed limit low. Coast to stoplights. Check the air pressure in your tires. I use amsoil, not sure if that helps...
Also, when I went to Eibach's I swear my mileage went up by 1-2mpg as well. (I think they advertise better mpgs now in this economy..)
I just filled up and got 25.12mpg on a 65/35 split. I was pretty happy about that.
I'm trying to do good so I dont have to sell it. I drive way too much right now!

Try this: Reset the average while going 70 on a level highway with cruise on and keep driving for a preset distance, then get up to your typical cruising speed of 80 and reset it again. Drive the same distance as you did before. You will then get a clear readout of the difference in economy at different speeds. Once you see how much of an economy drop a mere 10 mph makes on the highway, it will start making sense.
I think I might do that this weekend just for kicks.
Also, people that do the math on an entire tank are going to have lower numbers than people who are cherry-picking 50 miles and quoting the computer. I know people have this blind faith in computers, but, really! Go 300-400 miles, fill the tank, and divide the miles by the gallons, and then compare your results. They'll be a lot closer than - all over the map!
Someone get 29mpg out of G35. Is this even real? :-O
I tried my best driving like a granny in city and I made 19mpg.
Cruising on highway at 72mph (I drive by the rpm, at 3000rpm) gives me 22mpg.
I wonder if I just drop the speed down to 63mph will gain me 7mpg :-/ That would be very very unpredictable victory.

Also, because it's so accurate and since I always reset at every fill up, I have been able to use the mpg indicator, times 20 gallons, to estimate exactly how far I can REALLY go on the current tank (regardless of what the hysterical fuel gauge says). It's helped out when I'm late and in a rush knowing whether I can make it to wherever I'm going or if I should stop and fill up.
Ok, it's been a fun week. I had more freeway cruising than usual due to meetings, and drove rather aggressively on back roads for at least 2 days this week. I haven't reset the average mileage for about 3 tanks now. What I did though is reset my trip from the last fill up. So.... 150.7 miles / 7.59 gallons comes out to 19.9 mpg. The average on the display reads 20.2 at the moment. The display is accurate since mpg is inversely proportional to fun level while driving your G. My mpg took a hit this week, and it was worth every penny.
best, app, everrrrrrrrrrr.
a LOT of commuting for me, if all freeway miles, probably around 25mpg, i like to cruise around 75mph.
i drove down to LA from SF a few times, cruising at 70ish, 29.5mpg, and that was my highest mpg, ever. in this car at least.
IF all city driving in sf...around 14mpg, no thanks to the hills, traffic, stop signs, and me just being lazy so i rev higher so i dont have to keep shifting...lol
one thing though...pump up those tires. going on recommended psi (35) i have a coupe with 19s, and pumping up to 37psi cold inflation for both.. i notice a 1-2mpg difference better. yes the ride is a bit bumpier, and hitting potholes could be deadly for your tires, but to me totally worth it. better steering response too.
another thing, get lighter tires? dont know if you look at specs like that, but bridgestone tires are reallllyyyyyyy heavy, for my front 19s, 225/40, the potenzas weigh in close to 29lbs? continental extremeContact DW, 22lbs =]. best tires i've ever had
