29.1 mpg
So $4 gas has really hit the brakes on my driving. My first $70 tank of gas less than a month ago prompted the change. I limit myself to 63 mph except where "needed" for a moment or two. I rock the slow lane and barely step on the gas.
This is my third tank and each tank I do a little better each tank. The first tank I averaged 27.5, next was 28.9, and I am almost through this one at 29.1. ( it was at 29.8 unitl I caught some traffic on the way home.) I drive 75% higway and 25% not highway. I drive about 550 miles a week and hit 80,000 pulling into the garage tonight.
Are you guys slowing down yet? I is hard to with a fun car like this. Discuss.

I tried feathering the throttle all week long on my second tank after car purchase just to see what I'd end up with and I was doing well until the weekend came around. I couldn't resist the urge to fool around on the backroads and we all know what that does to mpg. Honestly, mpg was not even on my list of priorities when car shopping. The shifter paddles will be here this week, I'm certain they won't help the situation any either. I know I was able to average somewhere in the mid 27 range for a little while, but usually it's between 18.8 and 22.1 under normal driving conditions.

Yeah, I've found that since gas has gone up so much I do limit my playing a bit more. I just kind of mentally designate a given tank of gas as either for economy or fun. That way I can behave myself and get some really good gas mileage (for me) most of the time; then every third tank or so, I just tear it up so that I don't forget what it feels like. I just love those "for fun" tankfuls, brings a smile to my face every time

Yeah, I've put it in neutral a little bit more, and stopped putting my foot on the gas, I've always parked my car a little bit more
Been getting about 22mpg with some spirited driving on Osiris, JWT Clutch and flywheel, and 27/35/19 KDW 2's on the rear Rays wheels.
However, for my birthday, my pops gave me 200 in gas cards. Best present EVAR!

Kinda. But some cars perform a little bit more efficiently in higher RPM's (obviously not bouncing off the rev limiter.) And this may be an extrapolation, but if one were to shift at 1600 every time, that wouldn't be too efficient.

Does everyone know that if you shift into neutral when coasting downhill or to a stop, you actually use more fuel than if you coast in the highest gear with your foot off the gas? The ecu shuts off the injectors entirely when coasting in gear with throttle plate closed.
