HD Music Box Delay
My Music Box is pretty darn close to full. I have noticed that when trying to search for either an artist or an album...the search screen indicates that their might be 270 albums available ....but I can only access the first 7 or so titles. The rest are catalogued...but not accessible. It is only after quite a bit of time has passed...say 20 minutes...that the other 260+ titles show up. I am wondering if the software is simply overloaded with a full hard drive...or if their may be something wrong with the unit.
I also notice if I put the play mode into all playlist MIX (I think that is what it is called)...I get many of the same 20 or titles....but it never randomly finds the other 240...unless...I am in the car for longer period of time....
Its very odd and makes navigating the HD pretty cumbersome. Thoughts?

Hard drives, by their very nature (ssd too) get slower the closer the get to full capacity. I think the sweet spot on SSD drives is to stay under 90% usage. I am curious what the lifespan is of the drives in these cars, since it seems like a big task to replace them. I saw on the GTR forums somebody upgraded theirs, but they didn't post the ATA unlock code, and don't know if its the same on the g35 or not. Apparently that is the key to being able to read the drive in a computer to clone it to another or bigger drive.
