I have searched, both here and on google.

My boss has a 2008 G35x. He was using the ipod input with his iphone to listen to podcasts, and everything was great.

But he just switched to a droid phone. So of course, I told him he was going to lose that functionality, and would have to control music directly from his phone.

This is where we ran into a problem. In his console, next to the molex connector for the ipod cable (where online I have seen pictures of three RCA connectors) is nothing but plastic. There are no RCA connectors.

Has anyone else experienced this? The owners manual shows the RCA connectors, all the pictures I have seen show RCA connectors, but his car has none. So now I am stumped on how he is going to connect his droid.

 

IDK, is that part of the "Premium" package? Maybe he doesn't have that.

The base model doesn't have it.. if u have the sport u don't have the base model..

 

oh.. lol well i have the sports model but cheap one, not the nav

 

^^ I know Nav is separate from Premium, but I didn't know if Sports all had Premium.

 

Usually, the models that have usb input don't have rca inputs and vice versa. Does his car have a usb input?
I have a base Sport with no navi and no premium package but I still have the rca inputs. The only time I've seen plastic fillers in place of the rca inputs was when it had a usb input.

 

not entirely true. he could have the base model with sport package only. (no premium, no navi)

 

I am sorry fellas. I am an idiot. I found it. The rca jacks are BELOW the ipod connector. I swear, the pictures I saw, and in the manual, it shows the rca jacks to the LEFT of the connector.

Anyway, they are there. He had a folded up flyer wedged in the console storage that was covering them up. fwiw, he does have the premium radio, nav, etc.

 

yeah I was driving a base g37 loaner (10) this week and the rca jacks are missing, but there is no proprietary ipod connection, just usb (thank god, buying a special cable is just silly).

Btw if you lost or need the special ipod cable best price I found is a seller on ebay for 25 shipped (mine was missing when I bought my 08), it is labeled as a 2011 cable, but if you look at the picture, it's the prop. ipod infinity connector, and it works for me.
