also Sewell will not install the part because it involves too much work under the hood... my opinion though judging by what the gent over at parts said, " we have not done much gen 3 intakes and that our staff is just becoming more familiar with these aftermarket parts.

My dealer had an offer of Stillen exhaust, Gen3 intake and pulley for $3000! I honestly think the Takeda is more of a pain to install than the Gen3. At least with the Gen3, you can install it with the bumper in place.

Hey everyone,
so I went ahead and installed the stillen gen 3 cai and boy was this thing not a great fit for this car or maybe I was expecting something too easy to install. The last time I had an intake was a Fujita cai on my 5th gen maxima and that was just a walk in the park. Anyways, so my biggest complaint is the fit is too tight all around but mainly on the drivers side. I cut the "air ducts" as wide as I could to make this thing fit easily but still had a little bit of a hard time getting it through. the long pipes towards the filters did scratch up a bit but not noticeable because it's covered. Other then that no other problems except when I started the car the rpm dropped a little for a second then went away. In addition to the start, the car was off for a while and the temp reading was cold everything is smooth.
I drove it to work today and felt the overall difference in pep aside from the sound.
At about 2500 rpm's the opera of vq sound starts.
Overall issues: fitment of lower pipes, filters did not fit easily to the vibration mount,
Pro's: the note of the intake starts out sounding torqy (spelling), then starts to tastefully scream a little at the time of changing gears.
Excited about the next mod which looks like it is going to be a grounding kit.

Indeed my friend it is lol! If I didn't have a wife I would be so deep in debt right now tricking out this car... I told her yesterday I was going to sell her '10 Volvo S40, give her my 07 Gsedan 5at and buy myself a 6MT LOL. She wasn't going for it for a minute....
