Angry Clutch fluid leaking, dealer wants to charge alot to inspect.

Ive this ongoing issue with clutch pedal getting stuck in place, and finally noticed there is indeed a fluid leak. There is no pressure in the pedal since the fluid escapes. So the dealer is threatening lol to charge just to inspect. I can see the leak, but I dont know from where. Trying to figure out what to do next. Anyone ever have this issue?

No I have an extended, but they keep sayin it might be the clutch, which I kno is not worn yet n not covered, or the slave cyclinder n that isnt covered either.

it has to be salve or master cylinder problem if pedal is getting stuck with no pressure, did you get the Slave cylinder voluntary recall done? If not then thats your problem, print it out from infinitihelp.com and take it with you and that should shut them up and if not contact infiniti corp and you should be good to go.

btw the slave cylinder should be covered under extended warranty. chk ur agreement.

INTRODUCTION
Infiniti has determined that on some 2007 G35 sedan vehicles equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission, the clutch slave cylinder assembly may not have been manufactured properly. This could result in the operating force of the clutch pedal becoming light, and in some cases, could result in improper clutch operation. Infiniti is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the clutch slave cylinder assembly with a new improved part free of charge for parts or labor.

IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
Infiniti has assigned identification number P7253 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign.

OWNER’S LETTER
Dear Infiniti G35 Owner:

Infiniti is committed to providing the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction. With that in mind, we want to bring to your attention important information regarding the clutch hydraulic system in your 2007 G35.

REASON FOR SERVICE ACTION
Infiniti has discovered that on certain 2007 G35 vehicles equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission, the clutch slave cylinder assembly may not have been manufactured properly. This could result in the operating force of the clutch pedal becoming light, and in some cases, could result in improper clutch operation.

WHAT INFINITI WILL DO
To assure your continued satisfaction in your G35, your Infiniti retailer can replace the clutch slave cylinder assembly with a new improved part free of charge for parts or labor.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Please contact your Infiniti retailer at your earliest convenience in order to arrange an appointment. This free service should take about three hours to complete, but your Infiniti retailer may require your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon the workshop schedule. To ensure the least inconvenience for you, it is important that you have an appointment before bringing your vehicle to the dealer for service.
Please bring this notice with you when you keep your service appointment. Instructions have been sent to your Infiniti retailer.

If the retailer fails, or is unable to complete the modifications free of charge, you may contact the National Consumer Affairs Office, Infiniti Division, Nissan North America, Inc. at P.O Box 685003 Franklin, TN 37068-5003. The toll free number is 1-800-662-6200.

It's not the clutch. Agree to pay the fee--it should be covered under warranty. Clutch slave cylinder issue is exactly as you describe with pedal sometimes going to the floor--AFAIK, it is not a clutch fluid leak though. In any case, it should be covered if you have an extended warranty.

Dealer's usually charge a diagnostic fee to cover their time if it's not covered and you don't get it fixed there. That is not to say they won't cover it if that is appropriate.

Never had a leak before, but if I did, I'd check hydraulic lines running between the master and slave.

Yeah they want to charge 1000, to drop tranny. I took a look over weekend and took pics of leak, showed it to other advisor since the lady who helped me decided to take day off. The other advisor says its most likely covered by warranty, 90% sure we should be good. So we agree to move forward n that they would update us thurs morn. So she calls n asks if we want to move forward, I told her we already talked to so and so n wat he said. She says oh he didnt say that and they start changing their story around. Im like wtf are u saying. Bad communication, cant go back in til next week to slap them around til im off work.

^ ah ok, but im still pretty sure that it is a bad slave cylinder. If i were u i would take it to a local shop and have them diagnose and confirm what the problem is before chancing with the dealership on whether it will be covered or not, $1k is a big risk... hope it works out though, keep us posted.

It would be ironic if it was caused by a poorly connected hydraulic line when they swapped out the old slave.
