Help with M45 19 rims

I've searched and searched throughout this forum, and I still have a few minor questions for all the G35 Sedan owners with M sports rims.

1) Some people stated that spacers are required for clearance. Others say it's only for looks. Can the owners post pics and state what spacers they used (or weren't used)??

2) Some people used the original lug nuts taken from either G35 or 37, while some stated that it's different and will not fit. I found a thread saying that it's extremely dangerous to use the G35 lugs for M rims. If so, can someone recommend me a set of lugs online?? I'm not too sure about these open and closed lugs....

Thanks in advance. There's so much info in the forum but sometimes contradicting and a bit confusing. I could really use some help from actual owners of G sedans with M rims....

Do not use your stock G35/G37 lugs, I think the ones you need are called shank shape. They are more common, they were used on the 1st gen G's and M45's. You can pick them up at any auto store.

I run mine without spacers (07 G35S). They look great, but have very minor rubbing under FULL lock turns against the inside wheel well.

It can be eliminated with a 10mm spacer. The car will look better if you space them out even more. If you have a non-S you'll likely want a drop pretty soon.

Thanks Gforce, I looked online for these lugs, there's different types of lugs out there under Shank shape (size, length, open/closed). I was searching for the M45 sports rim lug nuts, but those listed say "works for M45 and G35 sedans", and I'm not really sure if these lug nuts are really for M rims....

If i was to use a 10mm spacer, is there anything else I need??

You would want 20mm spacers all around with 245/40/19's for a decent fitment.

Thanks J2S2M. With any of the spacers I buy, is there anything else I need to purchase in order for the set up to complete?? M rims, spacers, new lug nuts are the only items??

Make sure to order some quality spacers and not some cheap ones like Ichiba. Cheap ones will lead to wheel vibrations, excessive stress on your hubs, etc. I would recommend the 20mm Project Kics or H&R drm spacers all around. If you go with Project Kics, you will need to purchase hub rings since they are not hubcentric. H&R drm spacers are hubcentric, so you won't need to purchase the rings. Anyway GL and congrats on the new wheels!

Thanks J2S2M, although the M rims didn't come in yet lol
Okay, I'll be sure to purchase the hubcentric spacers.

Oh, and another question....

For the spacers, do I purchase the ones listed for G35 or M45 (rims I bought)?? Or are they the same....??

Sorry if this is a retarded question.

That is a very clean set of M45's btw. How much did they end up costing you?

I believe they will do fine.

Spacers would be the same for G35's and M45's since they share the same lug patterns.

These aren't the actual rims I bought, just random online pic to show the exact rim of purchase, although mines are pretty much the same. Picked it up for 1600 shipped.

Whats the problem w G35 Lugs? I used my stock lugs and added a set of locks for protection..

I have 20mm spacer/adapters all around with 245/40/19's...
I also have the Ichiba's w no problems and no vibrations as of yet....

Yeah, yeah I need a drop blah blah blah....
