Looks nice. Has anyone done this on a platinum graphite? I'm tired of my pock-marked grill.

I've painted the grill on my PG. I love it. Here is a crummy pic that I took with my BlackBerry.

Also hit the rear valence with plasti dip. Pretty happy with it. The curves at the top edge of each side are not perfectly smooth, but you can't tell from a distance.

Again, sorry for the crummy pic.

Matte. AFAIK, Plasti Dip is always matte.

I know people talk a lot of ish about plasti-dip, but I was going to suggest plasti-dip on the grille. It's nature is such that it protects from rock chips, and damage from road debris very well. Additionally, it is virtually indistinguishable from matte black paint.

I've repainted my grill matte black 3 times now. It does not last long before it get's busted up. However, I sprayed my buddies grille with the black plasti-dip several months ago, and it still looks perfect...

FYI: I haven't used it yet, but Plasti-dip comes in clear now. I would love to see how it looks sprayed over color. It might be a much less expensiveness alternative to a clear bra?

I digress... The grille looks good dude. Nice job.

Did you have to sand first or did you just spray over the chrome? I'm thinking of going ahead and doing it.

Not speaking for OP, but I scuffed it up with 600 to promote adhesion with the paint. However, if you use plasti-dip, you don't need to sand or scuff... and you can peel it off if you ever want to go back to chrome. I wish I had done that now.

Yep, no scuffing or prep (other than cleaning) needed. I went in light coats, 15 minutes between, for about 5 coats total.

I cleaned it with water dried it and went to town. Gave it a real light coat at first. Waited 5 min then sprayed coats every 10-15 min until it was all coated and wa - la!!

I was thinking of doing the real valence but i might have vinyl put on there when i get my tailights tinted.

did you do any sanding to remove any chipped spots on the grille?
Looks good I'm going to do this on the weekend on my slate.

Looks great! I normally don't like red cars but red G35's are sick!
