Question about rev app for car
I am looking to get this iphone app for my car. http://www.devtoaster.com/products/rev/
Now i know it hooks up to your car via the port to check codes..and i see the adapters for like $150
My Q is will this show everything? Like tranny temp ect? Anyone have something like this

IDK, I've never seen it before, but it looks intriguing. I guess you could just call the company and see what specifics they can give you for the G's. Seems like pretty much anything the ecu monitors should be fair game as long as their software has a utility for the data. Modern ecu's can do absolutely amazing things anymore, so it wouldn't be the least bit surprising if they didn't monitor tranny temp. It would be great if they could link you into diagnostics too, like cycling your abs when you do a brake fluid change, etc.

I have a similar app (Torque) for my Android, paired up via bluetooth with an ELM327 compatible module. The app is only $5, but the module varies between $20 and $150. The cheaper ones like what i have is a hit/miss, usually miss, in terms of quality.
Case in point, mine only stays stable for a few minutes then it starts transmitting errors. One of these days i'm getting the better Kiwi or Scantool units. Torque and all its users actually warn you about this but i decided to take my chances. This is one of those instances where you definitely get what you pay for.
From the little i can do with it, it does read a variety of parameters and you can add your own if you know the PIDs.
