Boing/Twang Mattress spring noise when exiting vehicle

K, I've done hours of searching but haven't found anyone with my same problem so here goes..

Bought an 07G35X a few months ago with about 49k miles. Only mods so far are paddles and cosmetic stuff. Love it. Lately when I park and then climb out of the vehicle I hear a loud TWANG or BOING sound from under the front of the car. It's even louder when someone climbs out of the passenger seat at the same time. It only happens maybe 50% of the time, and so far I CAN'T reproduce it by rocking the car up and down, driving over speedbumps, etc. I haven't noticed any other strange noises or behavior when driving except for perhaps some more vibration at hwy speeds than I expected, but I put that down to the cupped yokos that came on the car Also, it only makes the sound after driving a few miles then parking and exiting - reentry and exit doesn't reproduce it so far.

Any ideas? It's at the dealership for the weekend for some other issues (recent rough idle leading to stalling suddenly in the last week) but so far they couldn't 'reproduce' the issue. Of course. It sounds like I'm rolling off a 20-year old mattress or flipping a doorjamb every time I climb out of my luxury car. Thanks guys.

Higher pitched than a creak... definitely sounds more like a doorjamb/springy twang. I'll try to get a recording but the cell phone mic is subpar.

if that's when you hear it it's either a shock or spring issue and i guess spring. maybe something in the swaybar endlink but i think you would hear that much more often.

possibly it's in the spring seat, or the spring could be cracked. sometimes the spring pieces would be in alignment, sometimes out of alignment then, so you might not always here it. that happened with my last car when i got it.

i'd be surprised if it's something else but if +/- 170lbs is enough to create that noise i'm still thinking it's the spring.

My rear brakes made a noise like that when i got out of the car, usually not if i rocked it to try to do it again. It got worse and worse and eventually they started to make the noise all the time when i was pressing the brake lightly. There was no grease left on the brakes, the dealer re-greased them and then it went away. Then it came back a few months later...no grease left on the brakes/the shim again. Very strange metallic twang sound that started just when i was getting out of the car and now happens when i push the brake lightly or even when I am just cruising around slowly. I need to get it fixed again it just got really loud and people are giving me weird looks when I drive bye lol. They said it was just dirt and low lubrication 3 weeks ago when I first tried to get it fixed. If they find a REAL answer to this weird *** noise when I go this weekend i will post again.

My money is on a broken seat frame! I had exactly that "mattress spring" boinging getting in and out of my G. My dealer replaced it under warranty no hassel.

Why does Nissan have so much trouble engineering seat frames that don't break? I know the Murano had a lot of problems with this (I poked around on the forums a lot when I was looking for a car, thank god I got a G lol). I have also seen complaints on the Maxima forums that cover multiple generations of that car, and my friend had his seat frame break in his Maxima. You think it would be easy compared to the rest of the car...they must leave the design/build completely up to suppliers.

Wow! A lot of things to look for. My E-brake also makes a springy noise when I engage it. My driver's seat seems a little unsupported, the side bolsters seem crushed/weak and it squeaks against the center console constantly. In any case it's warmed up a lot in the last few days and I haven't heard this sound since.

Anyone have any ideas on getting the dealership to replace the seat?
