I changed my filter 5K miles ago to Fram Fresh Breeze, but now have a loud airplane-like noise when I switch the HVAC to outside air (none when switched to cabin recirculate). Thinking that I installed the filter incorrectly, opened it up and changed the arrow position - nope, same issue. Noticed that one of the dash panel screws was missing - could it be causing the problem (don't see how)? Living with it for now by mostly turning up the stereo - still, it is annoying.

doesn't seem like there is a consensus on which way the arrow points. Does it depend on the brand of filter you are using? Looking to do this soon since I turned on my a/c at full blast yesterday and it smelled like a wet dog for a few seconds. And I don't have a dog...

Or you could find a DIY thread in the DIY section. I tried using the video but i couldnt figure out how to get the screws in the back. Moved on to the DIY thread, and it helped me alot.

Do you really have to take all the trim off? seems like you can get away with just taking the glove box off. Seems like the same install I have done in my old car.

there should be one in the back. Right at the top behind the console. Its all the way in the back u might need a extension for ur screwdriver and maybe a light to find it.

I thought it was close the the middle, if you look at the video above for the g37 at 1:05 you should see the screw clearly.

Last question on this, I removed all six screws and both side and bottom panels. The problem is I feel a lot of resistance on the glove box when I try to take it off. Is this normal and should I muscle it out. I'm scared I will brake something like a clip. Can someone advise!
