On a hot day, my car pretty much sounds like that, especially if it has been driven hard. Seems like it's just the nature of the beast. If you let the car cool down for like 30 mins, does the sound go away when you start it back up?

i suggest you go to a local G meet and test out a fellow members MT and see if you hear/feel the difference, sometimes normal for one person can be unacceptable for another.

I go to every G meet. One guy just got a 2011 6mt and an 08 37 coupe, but other than that, there are no other 6mt 07+ Gs..

[QUOTE=Wannabe6MT;5963891]I bought the car 4k miles ago (im at 34k now) and it is CPO so i'd assume that they would do something about it. It shouldn't wear out at 34k.

I really hope for your sake that they do something about this.. happened to me at 28k and they gave me some bullshit that clutches are like brake pads the don't cover them cuz u can beat the **** outta them. I hope this gets resolved tho and let me know what it was cuz my car makes that noise as well

Hate to say that it's pretty much normal for our cars then, annoying for sure, but nothing is out of order.

Thats actually true and a valid argument from their point of view, clutches are a wear and tear item and will die depending on how its been driven and very seldom is it cause of improper install or bad disk.

Infiniti is pretty generous with their 6MT warranties from most stories I hear. If something is really wrong and they replicate it you're getting a new transmission. If your gears are whining or grinding they will replace. They will try to sell you on a new clutch during the replacement but you can refuse that and sometimes theyll just throw it in anyways for free.

I too worry about the throw out bearing but they are commonly crappy sounding in the G. Mine has always been loud and on occasion feels like there is gravel in there grinding around. Throwout bearing combined with loud A/C compressor makes for one crappy sounding idle. So far so good though and I dont hear too many high mileage 07+ needing throwout bearing replacement.

I've always had a little hiccup going into 3rd on cold days. Been waiting for it to get bad enough for a guaranteed diagnosis but so far its stayed in check.

^ true on the warranty stuff, but i really dont see how this could be a throwout bearing issue considering its making the noise while the clutch is up/not depressed which would mean that the throwout bearing is not in use/has no stress on it. Could be the pilot bearing when it gets a bit louder like that else its just the nature of the beast.

Sounds similar to mine and i have an 03 sedan but it does not make a howling noise like you say yours does. I get a chatter that comes and goes @ iddle when been driven most of the day. Sometimes i could of been driving all day with it and it would not make the diesel noise at all. Noise just appears whenever i guess. Evn when i had the stock clutch and flywheel it would make the noise. I thought by swapping it with a new one it would quiet down but no. Im running ACT clutch/flywheel same **** noise but with no issues ever.
