For the SPORTS, all you need is to open one 7mm(i think) hex screw on the bottom of the caliper and you can then swing it up to change your pads(Remember to push back your piston or the caliper wont fit over the new pads), first take off the wheel, then turn the wheel towards you and you will see a black rubber cover over the lower bolt, remove that and then use the appropriate hex key to open the screw(very easy!) swing it open, take out the 'springs' that push the pads out by simply taking them out of their holders and change your pads and you're done!

He actually mentions rotors!! To my understanding you gotta take the whole calipers off!! And the rears make sure the E brake is off! I forgot that when I was doing my rears! I was wondering why it wouldn't come off!! (<stupid) it's a Pain in the butt!(<sounds cheesy) I switched all my calipers, rotors, new brake lines, it was a beesh!!!

I used to do my own brakes when I was younger...then I tried to do the rear brakes of my (then) girlfriends 300zx (this was the 80's).... I ended up having to have it towed in to a shop.

I am going to try new ebay rotors/pads in the next week or two but I'm gonna have a shop install them for me.

Good luck!

Ding Ding Ding.....could not figure out why that piston wouldn't compress.

and for the comment about men doing their own work...my mechanic's time is worth significantly less than mine now.

I had a '87 Maxima when I was younger and it had similar brakes to the Z IIRC.

I have not done the rears yet. So you have to turn the piston to compress it?

Use 19 mm wrench, socket didn't fit bottom for me on the rears. May have use a breaker bar or mallet to losen caliper bolts that hold it on. Rotors should slide off, if not a little wd40 will help on the bolts.

Have a box ready or rest on parts since the brake line is attached to the caliper and it doesn't reach the floor

I would recommend cleaning the rotors with throttle body/brake cleaner.

If your close in CA I wouldn't mind helping you... Very easy.

^rear caliper are not rotated... C clamp or grippers will compress it easily.
