Question Car Quality Poll

All,

I thought it may be interesting to see if we could gather up feedback on our G's quality via a simple poll. It isn't very scientific but crowd sourcing subjective opinions can yield valid trends.

I would define major repairs as something costing you $500+ out of pocket expenses, parts and labor included.

I put a sixty limit because much more than that and the data would become skewed.

J

Yeah, I threw in the 08's and 09's in case anyone had some cars that were out of warranty due to high mileage. Shouldn't have put 08 and 09 options out of warranty due to years though.

My bad.

Got my car with 24,xxx now has 50,xxx. Only time I ever had anything done besides regular oil changes/maintenance was the TSB with the warped rotors (all free). Other than that no problems whatsoever.

I am still under warranty, but thinking about extending it for another 4 years. DOn't know yet if it's worth it.

You want valid trends read consumer reports. Any poll here would hardly qualify as an accurate assessment, whether good or bad.

Yeah, you're right gt. Problem is they do the surveys yearly and i was hoping to get an idea of what our community is experiencing. Also, the level of detail we provide to each other is unmatched anywhere. My warranty runs out in August and I won't know results for 07's that are out of warranty until well after that. Hoping to see some relevant preliminary results now. Again, it isn't scientific but this community has a wealth of information from people in the same boat. That just can't be beat!

Along with that, there was a member on here that was doing a similar poll, and relied on info from members here on issues they've had with their cars. I think he was doing 07 and 08. I can't remember his name but I'm sure you can probably do a searc and after a little while browsing you may find it. Last time I saw it, it was several pages long.

'07, just had all door handle grabs, steering wheel, dash hood, and 6 spd transmission all replaced under warranty a week before it expired due to years....yet I get to say no major repairs according to this survey's category definitions

I will say that it's odd though; in spite of those repairs, I feel as if my car has been drop dead reliable for me. I guess if I had to pay for those issues I'd be singing a different tune though.
