Slave cylinder

Slave cylinder
I've only had this car a month, but the first week I owned it the clutch was acting weird. Basically had no pressure until I drove it a while.
In the recent heat its happened several times in the last week.
My Maxima did the same thing for about a year...would have to pump the clutch to get any pressure going. Eventually it went to the floor and I replace the slave.
Read a few threads about this - am I safe to assume I have a bad slave? How do you get the stealership to replace it since it only occurs intermittently?

yeah it sounds like a bad slave cylinder OR air in the system needing to be flushed and bled properly. FYI in case you didnt know there is a voluntary Recall on most MTs for bad slave cylinders which gets you are free replacement, so next time it happens just print out the recall notice and call them to get it towed to them for free with the free roadside assistance and have it fixed

^ well from what i know the recall was for the 07 sedans so you wont automatically fall under this recall, however since its the same production year you can try and have them accept it. Basically all you need is the TSB number which is ITB08-001 and CAMPAIGN ID #: P7253...
Detailed recall info here
Else try contacting infiniti and see if theyll cover it

here's the deal if you are under 4yr/60k warranty and you take the car in for such an issue they HAVE to replace it for you for free cause salve cylinder is not a wear and tear item requiring to be changed at such low mileages or even ever if maintained(fluid wise).
If you use the free complimentary infiniti roadside tow to get it to the dealer when the clutch is stuck to the floor they will have to fix it under warranty else just call corporate and im 99.9% sure you'll get it replaced for free, then while you're there tell em it happens a lot and its not the first time so that they dont try to get you out of there with just a clutch fluid flush(which could be the solution if there is air in the system)
