Interior kits

Who makes the best interior trim kit that fits over the OEM trim?

Looking at a used 07 6MT and I don't know if the previous owner drove with a chain mail glove on his left hand but he has worn some of the paint off the steering wheel near the left side buttons and around the door switches.

Never seen that on a car before, not sure if some touch up paint would help for now.

But I like the look of the carbon fiber dash kits.

Standard feature on our cars, or rather the '07s. It's a warranty item somewhat, just depends on the dealership.

No repair, they replace the steering wheel and trim around the door switches with updated parts that are no longer finished in the rubbery black stuff but molded black plastic so there is no paint to wear off anymore.

FWIW, I disassembled all that trim, cleaned off the factory paint (really a rubberized coating) and then sprayed on about 10 light coats of Duplicolor "bumper paint". It has a similar color/texture to stock and is much more scratch resistant.

We have issues with the same behavior on 1993 Mazda RX7 interior panels, which are big $$$, so the bumper paint and Plastidip methods have been used a lot. Take your time and I guarantee no one will know that they have been refinished.

I want to repaint my interior trim too. Can you tell us specifically how you removed the rubber coat on those trim?
In addition, if anyone has a DIY clip of removing the steering wheel trim, it would be extremely helpful.

CarID has dash kits, you can get them in solid colors or CF.

I have negative experience with CarID. I emailed them asking for the price of the steering wheel trim and they just ignored me. Even if they don't want to sell it alone, they should have told their "potential" customer that. What kind of customer service is that? Now even if they sell me that trim for $1, I wouldn't buy it.
