Newbie

So I'm a newbie here. Thought I would just say Hi and let you know what I have.

Purchased a used 2007 G35 sedan over the weekend. It only has 34711 miles on it. I was told it was a Journey, but I dont see anything to specify that?? Its very clean IMO. Front bumper has been repainted and the rotors have been rode hard and warped. This is the first import I have ever owned. Mostly been a GM person but I couldnt find one that fit the specs I put forth in finding a different car.

Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out how to do everything with all the gizmos in the car. No owners manual so I will be posting in the WTB for sale section on that and a few other things. I may still end up posting how to do questions as I am taking a road trip this weekend and would like to learn a few things before then.

If there are any forum rules here that arnt standard in other forums, please let me know.

Thumbs up Is it a Journey?

Dale07 this was posted in a previous thread regarding if you have a journey or not.

If you dont have the above, you have the "base model".

You had to have the journey model to basically get any of the packages including the popular premium package that included:

Tinted glass power
sunroof with rear tilt feature, sliding sunshade,
and one-touch operation; Studio on Wheels
by Bose® premium audio system with Burr
Brown® Digital Audio Converters; driver’s seat,
steering wheel and outside mirror memory
system; seat and outside mirror position
synchronization (outside mirrors automatically
adjust as seat is moved); driver’s seat power
adjustable lumbar support (2-way); power tilt
and telescoping steering wheel; one touch
up/down rear window function; automatic
anti-glare rearview mirror with HomeLink®
Universal Transceiver; Bluetooth® hands-free
phone system; heated front seats and front
outside mirrors

congrats and welcome, check out some of the sticky's and they should answer more than half of your questions regarding the cars features and even very useful DIY!

my_g35. thanks for link but I couldnt figure out how to dl from that. I did find a pdf online and figured out a few things, plus the sticky on stuff you didnt know your g35 would do.

I'd still like to get an original to keep in the car at some point.

Figured out my car does not have the premium package.

Is there a sticker on these cars that tells what different options it was ordered with? GM calls it an "rpo tag".

I paid 25 for it. It all depends upon location because cars in Baton Rouge are about 3k cheaper then here in Little Rock I found out.

Yes. Would like to do an intake and STB's. I think there is a lower front brace for these?

Since the car is fairly "stripped". I'm wondering how hard it would be to buy some used stock parts and add options. Like a radio with sirrus and CF/mp3 reader?

Likely upgrade to some stock 18's when the tires wear out.

Koni struts when the stocks give out.

Found out from here I have driving lights, lol. How useless are them in stock form?!
