^ search on myg37 and you will find some very good third party private dynos from reliable people showing acceptable gains from R2C, Stillen 3G and takeda in summer temps and high humidity, so thats as good of a proof as anyone can give you but you'll have to spend some time searching.

As for the pipes i cant comment since i havent seen any third party private dyno but have seen one on the company site which showed i think 4whp gain.

But in the end yes our stock air intake systems are very nice but obviously not the best since these aftermarket intake companies are squeezing out 8-13whp which is quite a bit from intakes on our motors, also exhaust and ART pipes have shown to give GREAT gains, search on 370z forum as well, A LOT of dynos and believable info with proof rather than words. +1 to bat6wc, HPS tubes give noticeable increase in the throttle response! It almost eliminated the negative aspects of the ecu reflash "increased throttle sensitivity" that made my car dumb in the low rpm...

 

OP if the difference in sound is noticeable, could you post up a video or something?
I've heard sound from different intakes, but not from HPS and stock filter. I searched online and got nothing.....

 

sound difference is almost not noticable, maybe a little more "growl" on the high rpm...

but i don't need any sound increase, as I got loud borla cat-back + berk's hfc.

+1. i havent dyno'd with these bc the cost of the dyno isnt worth it. all that matters is that I feel a difference in throttle response. HPS claims WHP increases.

 

Hps is just a better route for better flow and maybe hp or tq,I use k&n drop ins with my set up.I just dont see spending 500 for intake especially if im just gona get 5hp from them,All u really need is a x pipe,test pipes and these hps tubes with k&n drop in filters and u prob get better results then getting a full exhaust and intakes.and u would spend half or less also.Thats just my opinion..

 

This makes no sense. tp and xpipe would be included in a full exhaust, unless you just mean catback.

 

im saying if u didnt wana wast over 1000 for a exhaust system u can get those tp,and x pipe for like 500 total..

 

Yeah...but that wouldn't outperform a full exhaust and intake.

 

+1 (on full exhaust at least). Ill tell you, at first i was very hesitant and frustrated that a catback was going to cost $1000+ but after buying the stillen and having it for several months, i must say it was a very good purchase. worth the money. a full exhaust will produce good gains. Add a gen 3 intakes then a TUNE and you are set.

I still believe that when I took off my R2C's and put on my stock setup with the HPS tubes I get more out of that engine. Personally, I am very pleased with running the HPS setup with aFe filters. Doesn't sound as nice as the R2C but I do think you get more bang for the buck. Haven't experienced anywhere near as many intakes as Bat but between the two I feel like go for R2C if you want a great sound with top of the line filters and go HPS and hi-flow filters if you want a great bang for the buck and I am willing to bet more performance overall. Thats my $ .02

r2c intake will surely make any vq35hr dumb in the low rpm, because of the decreased low torque (wrong AFR w/o tune)

and HPS tubes don't affect AFR, as they are situatued after MAF!
