back to HPS and lovin it

well, im back to running HPS intake tubes and I must say, im in love with the car again. I am now a 100% believer in HPS over any aftermarket intake (aside from stillen gen 3 which i havent tried). I am officially done with intakes with my conclusion being that HPS is the best and better than OEM.

I also got bored with the circuit sports strut bar because no one wanted it, and powdercoated it matte black. came out great and im rockin it again.

im actually back to running stock air filters as well. Ive had the k&n dropins as well as the HKS and the AFE and they are all the same. The aftermarket ones just allow for reuse.

No intake/tube on these will give you any HP..the true CAI one may, the ones that go infront of the grill. But very expensive.

I bought my R2C for look and the noise..it makes the engine sound so much meaner..love flooring it in tunnels

May I interject? Just curious, what facts do you have to go on when comparing air intakes and deciding which you like the best? Seems like every scientific review of air intakes shows that they increase and decrease power/torque along the rev range. Max power increases, acceleration numbers might increase, but for the real life driver who's not going fast and furious much......?

Is the butt dyno the only judge? Can you detect a 5% change vs stock or a 2-3% change in different aftermarket intake brands? On a car that has too much NVH to begin with, does the added NVH justify the meager gain?

Sorry to be a troll and play devils advocate but my G is all stock and I've yet to see proof that any engine performance mod is worth the money. Paying up to 5-600$ for tubes and filters is just funny. Heck someone is paying 12 grand to supercharge their G sedan? Trade up for a twin turbo 3 series and play with that.

Please, someone roast me and fire back!

No..on these cars you will not feel the difference with intakes. This car is very very well tuned from factory..you are getting over 300hp out of a 3.5l v6..talk about nice. Only mod that will give you a good amount of power is a supercharger or turbo. You may feel a slight increase with nice exhaust getting rid of back pressure but that's about it.

People buy intakes for this car for look/noise. Hell i bought mine based on noise because i planned on getting an exhaust and the two would go great together noise wise but now i may be selling my car so who knows..if not i keep intakes for noise and or when i get exhaust
