Aligment issue?

So about 3 months ago or so I bought some eibach springs for my car. Drove for about 2 weeks let the springs settle then went and got the aligment done. He said no problems all was good. Just yesterday I went to takey wheel off and noticed that the inside of the tire was getting worn out (front tires). Took the other front tire off same thing.

So I said he'll with that shop and went to another one that has one of those new aligment machines. Now he tells me that my front camber is off and it is not adjustable.

My question is is this true or is this garage trying to rip me off to.

And if it's true where is the best place to get control arms front ones. That's what he said I need in order to get my camber right.

Thank you

how low did the springs drop you

if it was less than 1.5 in you should be good with out a camber kit

The front camber can't be adjusted. Make sure to get a printout after every alignment. Make sure the toe is zero'd. I'd be surprised that after just 3mo of driving your inner tire surfaces are noticeably worn with just an Eibach drop. Still, you will get camber wear to some extent. I have f/r camber kit and the wear is totally even--eventually, the kits will pay for themselves in rubber.

What he said....seems really unlikely that you would get that much tire wear that quickly just from high negative camber--more likely toe is/was off as well.

I would've got the alignment after the drop regardless, just in case. The front camber can not be adjust so you gotta get yourself a front camber arm now.

When you got your alignement done, did you get a print out and the tech explained to you what he did and why he did it ?

I dont know what the factory specs is for your model but search around here and the alignemnt shop should get as close to it as possible.

I have an Eibach Sportlines and my alignment is off, waited for a couple of weeks to so the springs settle and then got an alignment, I check what is the factory spec and asked the alignment shop to get as close to it as possible. They adjusted it gave me an explanation why and how they did it.

good luck !!

Can anyone give me the correct model number for the SPC control arms for a 2007 G35 sedan (journey). I think it is the 72130, but there are no shims in the kit. Ordered the 72125 but the kit is wrong but it came with Shims. The alignment shop I went to need the shim kit with the control arms.

Is the correct part 72130? if so do I need the shim kit and washers??

You do not use any shim kit. If the alignment shop wants the shim kit, go to a different one! It is a direct replacement for the stock control arm and should fit perfectly. I think you just need to turn the ball joint around so you can the max pos camber adjustment range.

Yep, great source for the SPC kits, pretty simple install IME, I'd just get the whole F&R kit as you may want to go lower w/ coilovers later. The front also has a wide range caster adjustment and better bushings than the stock arms. Here's a good DIY thread if you want to save a couple hundred bucks and do it yourself Mine's dropped 2" F & 1.6" rear and everything came back within stock specs, my caster is a bit stiff but I like it that way.
