Question on purchasing either 05 or 08?
#17
I've owned a 2005 sedan and now own a 2008 sedan and I find the 2008 to be a much better car in almost every way. I think the v36 models are well worth spending a little more for. You should check when the 2008 was first put into service as that will affect how long the factory warranty lasts. You are probably better off waiting on buying the extended warranty, no use to finance it and pay interest on it possibly years before you will need it.

Well I hope to grab this one, but will not know officially until Tuesday if I will move forward. I think I can get it for $24.5. I offered that based on small curb rash on 1 wheel and a small ding that needs to get pulled out. Other than those 2 minor issues the car is immaculate. He had the dealer put the sport wheels on and then had them custom powder coated gun metal gray. They look amazing on the white. Also, not sure if it is stock or not but there is clear bra on the nose and lower hood and door handle areas. Also a couple other small areas.

It's all too easy to get seduced by a clean car when you're a hungry buyer in the market. I'd still say that patience is a virtue, and you shouldn't get an X unless you really need one, clean or not. It's a big purchase, you should really check yourself on being too hasty here. After all, that's when we are most prone to make a mistake. I wish you the best of luck regardless; I'm just offering another perspective.

You guys saying it's too much really don't know what you talking about. Try finding one fully loaded with under 20k miles on it for much cheaper. Good luck.
prices vary depending on area also.
I paid just under 27k for mine with 19k miles on it. I didn't get a bargain but I had to have a 6mt. It wasn't easy to find.
OP: If you can afford it get the v36. It's MUCH nicer then the v35.

I don't think they are hard to find if you look and have a little patience. I found 3 pretty quick. They may not be pristine or the options you want but something will soon turn up that you like. I love the X. I drove one for four years but where I live AWD is a useful option. In Arizona you wont be able to take advantage of it and speaking from experience I can say that you will have a little bit worse gas mileage than the RWD models.
Here is one, in Arizona, with 11,500 miles, NAV for $24,995.
Here is another, in Arizona, with 21,900 miles, $22,495
Here is a 3rd, in Arizona, with 26,000 miles, $24,683

^did you post those just because U spent the time looking and didn't want to post nothing?
The first one is just -$5 under 25k (after being reduced already), claims is a "sport" and isn't fully loaded
second is also a basic model and is over 20k, hence it being a couple grand cheaper.
same goes for the 3rd which actually is only a few hundred off 25k...
None of these things may mean anything to you but there is a reason for the price difference.

No where did the OP say the 08 X he's looking at is 'Fully' Loaded, with Nav, Tech etc. Maybe he could clear that up, or maybe I missed it. Loaded means different things to different people so I posted a few links, big deal. I also said they may not be pristine or exactly what he is looking for.
I also said, IMO, an AWD seems like a waste under the circumstances.
Did I say don't buy it...No.
FWIW - I do agree that its a good price for an 08X but if you can find and X for that then you should be able to find an S for roughly the same price. Maybe the X is low priced because no one in Arizona wants it.
As for the 1st link, the seller says its a Sport Sedan, which it is. It does not say it's a G35S and clearly indicates below that it has the JOURNEY PKG

That's a good point, but my insurance only went up $5 a month from my 04x to my 08 xS. I am 28 with no tickets though, and I have multiline discounts because of my homeowners insurance. I was still really shocked at the small change in price.
