I know this thread is old but I might have some info for you guys. I've had the flashing SET light intermittently since my '04 was a few years old and again during the past week. What I noticed now that I have a cipher cable is that code P0605 is thrown whenever the light blinks. This code apparently doesn't cause a SES light. I am thinking the blinking SET is an indicator for P0605. Being a 'ROM Error' it's a problem within the ECU itself, not the engine so this could explain why they chose not to light up the SES indicator. It tends to happen now adays soon after reflashing and goes away after a few days. Strange thing is, everything works fine... drives perfectly and even CC works. I'm guessing the ECU has redundant systems in it and perhaps only a partial failure at this point.

Any updates on this? Just started having this happen. Anything I could tell the dealer?

Hmmm..Thought I was the Only that had this same Problem! Mine is a 6MT no ICC......Mine seems to happen More when it's cold outside.....Say if I went to a club..Came out couple Hrs later...And it's kinda chilly...Then this problem happens....Blinking "SET" Lite, and Cruise control light on.....Thats the only time mines does this...Only Cold weather, and randomly. And to clear it, I gotta shut off the Car for a few seconds. and upon restart it;s gone.. Very Weird! Hope there is a fix out there? But glad it's only certain times, and not everytime I use that car. that blinking would drive me nuts! LOL

Mine happens when I hit a bump or hard acceleration... Turning off the car for 10-15 seconds does clear it but it sporadically reappears. I have brought my car in to two different "Stealerships" and both couldn't figure out what's wrong. They had take down the tranny twice to inspect and check the electronics.. But nothing... Now I'm dealing with the brake light coming on when accelerating hard!

Original poster here. No real update except that this seems to happen with ever decreasing frequency. In fact, I think it's only happened twice - maybe even only once - in all of 2012. I just don't worry about it any more.

I have 05 coupe and I also have a problem with the light. Sometimes it does not go on when I turn on the cruise control, other times it goes on slowly like someone turns up the dimmer.

My guess that your and my problems are with the light it self and not the cruise control system, because just like your's, mine works without any other issues but the light.

They've replaced 2 switch assemblies for the brake pedal and that didn't fix it. Now they are replacing the whole ECM, though I'm not sure that going to fix it either. They claim that Infiniti Techline knows about it. It's really hard to reproduce though.

I don't recall the exact issue, but I couldn't set cruise a few months ago. The light stayed on, and an entire new light appeared. It also made an odd noise.

I called their help line and they said to check the ICC. It didn't look very dirty, but I wiped it off and it worked fine.

Okay, after 6 months, I can say that I fixed it. The dealer could not figure out what was going on since it was so hard to produce. But basically there are 2 switches behind the brake pedal and they need to be adjusted precisely with the specified gaps. Once I adjusted those 2 according to the service manual, the flashing cruise light went away.

That's really surprising, and frankly pathetic, that the dealer didn't perform the necessary switch adjustments when they replaced the switch assemblies; especially sinse they're so clearly spelled out in the FSM.

Glad you finally got it fixed!

Well they did, or claimed they did but I think the tolerance and timing of the on/off reading is really finicky. Literally the difference was like 0.5mm, there is also a bit of slop in the brake pedal so it's hard to measure the real gap. It took me a couple of tries to get it right.

It would have been nice if the dealer got it right the first, second or third time it was there!

Anyone else have any other info on this? I have an 03 AT and it just happened to me. However the SES light kept acting like it was going to come on and then faded away and it kept repeating that as I was navigating through my work parking lot. Also when I first felt a weird hesitation I looked down and the limp home mode light popped for just a moment and went away and that's when I noticed the SES and SET light. Anyone else notice the SES light fading in and out or any slight behavior issues with the car? Once I parked the car I popped the hood got out and listened and the motor sounded perfect. **** car off then back on and everything seemed fine but I haven't driven it again yet since I'm at work now.
