LOL, again with the polarities?

BTW, Please note that the heaviest flagship AMG would also have 600+ ft.lbs. of torque to carry itself.

Remember, they have the Journey and the Limited Edition and whatever for those with more luxurious preferences; they don't need to stuff more into the 6MT. Regardless, my whole belief is that they can accomplish both, they proved it with the M37.

I would love to see the next infiniti g sedan with forced induction,.. then the weight really woudent matter as much. I think that is the way that infiniti is going to have to deal with the weight of these cars. Thats where the German competition stands at now.

Just do what I did and gut everything if you are really concerned with weight.

I agree with you vqsmile. Following the engine and braking additions in 09, pound for pound and option to option, there is no apparent reason for a G37S 6mt to be heavier with each model year. I can't really see where the extra ~100lbs is.
Glad I lost 30lbs this year...that helps

The weight is probably attributed to chassis strengthening for impacts, light weight materials are much more expensive. The Engineers are probably balancing weight, material cost and crash test ratings.

I think it's funny that the 2012 6MT coupe weighs a few more lbs than the 2012 6MT sedan... source I used showed it 9 lbs heavier. No wonder the Tokico's work so well with our rides

I know, I know. Sigh.

Forced Induction is the answer for many manufacturers battling the CAFE *****. Smaller displacement and FI has been the combo seen across several auto makers lately.
