Warranty purchase?

Hey guys, I just purchased an 07 g35x with 36xxx miles on it. I was wondering, should I purchase the 4 year/or +48,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty for 1600? will it be worth it? Are our G's reliable to do without?

It's entirely up to you.
As far as cars go, the G (and the VQ engine) are among the most reliable cars made. That being said, you are buying a previously owned vehicle. Chances are you don't know the vehicle's exact driving history (how it was driven/maintained) so you should seriously consider extra warranty. $1600 is a lot of money now but if you need to replace something like a transmission you will more than re-coupe the cost.
If nothing goes wrong over the next four years you still only paid $400/year for some peace of mind. I would get it. Is the warranty transferable if you decide to sell the car?

just make sure its the real infiniti elite warranty, and not some aftermarket bs warranty - those are not worth the paper they are printed on. I'm still debating on getting one for mine since I bought used as well.

Yeah get the Infiniti Ext. warranty. I ended up paying for a 3rd party co called The Mechanic and they were supposedly "good" but when my transmission went out at 90k miles they ended up just ordering a remanufactured one instead of ordering a new one; what the mechanic at infiniti suggesting. I paid 2400 foe 30/30k miles, so thats a good deal just depending what the extended warranty company is good for really...

Try infinity of scottsdale, they seem to have competitive pricing on these. I think I was quoted these prices last april for mine:

G35 w/ 42k miles (available terms and price will change once you exceed 50k).

$0 Ded
24mo/24k=$806
36mo/36k=$1248
36mo/48k=$1531
48mo/48k=$1815
48mo/60k=$2141
60mo/60k=$2529
60mo/70k=$2991

$50 Ded
24mo/24k=751
36mo/36k=$1130
36mo/48k=$1369
48mo/48k=$1611
48mo/60k=$1899
60mo/60k=$2240
60mo/70k=$2647

$100 Ded
24mo/24k=$707
36mo/36k=$1033
36mo/48k=$1239
48mo/48k=$1447
48mo/60k=$1703
60mo/60k=$2008
60mo/70k=$2370

Interestingly 'rattles and squeaks' are specifically NOT covered lol.

price sounds about right so I would get it too. I purchased my car (CPO) used last yr with 309xx miles and I also purchased the Elite warranty. First used car for me so I was skeptical about PO use of the car. So far I've used the CPO part of it for door handle panel peeling, as well as replacing my steering wheel. Steering wheel alone is $1200 minus the installation cost so.........

If it's an Infiniti warranty there's only 1 price regardless of which dealer you purchase it from. All these price difference between dealers just means it's a third party warranty. Think he's looking for one from Infiniti.

LOL@ NOT covered, go figure!!

that's not true. i bought my extended warranty from infiniti scottsdale, you have to ask for courtney, and she gave me a great deal on my infiniti elite...before that we called around to different infiniti dealerships, and they all quoted us differently.

Not true, not true. Dealers always try to make lots of markup on the infiniti warranty (Nissan too). The Infiniti of Scottsdale is the infiniti elite warranty. That's like saying the cars are all the same price everywhere lol.

All dealers sell the Infiniti Warranty at different prices. Scottsdale always comes out cheaper than your local dealer. I am going to see if my local dealer will price match.

fyi...you don't have to live in arizona to get the deal scottsdale offers...she will simply talk through everything with you on the phone, then send you the papers via email. once everything is signed, you simply have to fax her a copy. that might save you time...some dealer guys can be real jerks about lowering their quotes.
