iPhone 4S Navigation for non-Nav G's???

I'm curious if anyone has the new iPhone 4S and has figured out how to hook it up to our LCD screen? Sprint is my carrier and I've been holding out on getting a new phone until I could get one that is capable of outputting nav/apps to our cars LCD screen (don't feel like rooting an Android phone). I'm hoping this is possible and someone could point out what cable is needed and any other info that would be necessary for getting this setup going (apps needed, ect... if it's even possible ) . Below is a link to a similar setup but is for the HTC Incredible (Verison). Thanks in advance!

I'd be interested in this too as I'm still....for some reason...with Sprint. I'm guessing the phone would need an rca tv out capability, and judging from other phones in the past, Sprint always seems to deactivate that technology even in phones where it works with other carriers.

At least Sprint is finally carrying the iphone! ha

Good luck!

Oh, and by the way, for my 07 non-nav I went the route of the GVN-53 which has been installed for over a year now and works great through the Aux button. I also put in a license plate backup camera and now the car has nearly all the same features as my wife's navi 08 g35.

It can be done through a jailbreak application, a member had posted this exact setup with a iphone 3g. Not sure if you want to jailbreak your brand new phone but if you do, you can make it happen

I'm getting the 4s through Sprint in a few weeks, I'll let ya know. Heard of jailbreaking the phone but not sure what that entails. I think I'll try that route before I drop $450 or so on the external Garmin.

Read through the above thread with the HTC Incredible, I'm going to check w/ Sprint to make sure the 4s has full video output capability as I heard it does. I also want to make sure it has a digital cable that can be used. If that's accomplished all you need to do is a little something something to allow it to work while the car is in drive.

If the iPhone has video out then yes.
When I had my 07X I did 'the mod' and could play video from my iPod video (5th gen). I never used it after I made it work. I was going to use it for a GVN nav and never got around to it.

May not be necessary with the IPhone 4s or IPad 2, there IS a digital av adapter that will work for video out. However, in reading the article I was a little confused on the "video mirroring" and "video out" capabilities of the 4s. It stated some apps "mirror" while others are designed to display video out on an external display. I didn't get a chance to call Sprint today to ask them but read some articles on the Apple website. I'll keep ya guys posted on what I find out. The goal for me and it seems like others as well would be to acccomplish what InfinitJazz did with his HTC Incredible (see link above) without having to "jailbreak" the new Iphone.
