Rubber boarder around the sunroof cracked?

On a 2008 G35 with sun roof, the rubber that on the edge of the sunroof has many small cracks. You can see them outside of the car with the sunroof closed.

Is this going to be a problem?

$165? what the... Mine has the same issue and the color has faded too... I'm going to try some sort of product that is oily to prevent anything worse... I don't know if that this issue cause very small amount of water to drip in when going through a carwash.

If you are within your warranty period just bring it to the dealer and have them examine it. I did it with my car as a matter of fact. It had many small cracks around the rubber sunroof seal, and the dealer replaced the entire sunroof. They said it would have taken longer to just replace the seal!

Stuff like this makes me shake my head at Infiniti. It's like they are still learning to be a luxury car brand. Rubber seals deteriorating or seals around the doors falling off or steering wheel finish peeling should be happening!

my 4 yr 60k runs out next September, I have several issues like the sunroof cracking, think I'm going to split up the trips to the dealership so I don't go in there with ten things to do all at once. I would imagine they would be more inclined to do something if I don't give them a whole long list at once?

I donno why that would make a diff. Infiniti pays them to do the work either way if it's under warranty and a covered item.

I was in the same situation and instead I noted everything in my iphone and just took it up to them ... anyways everytime you take your car in for service they do a multi point inspection. They will not refuse the requested tasks you give them.

^ While there is some truth to that there are forum members who have had mixed results on the same warranty items. The dealership you take it to unfortunately does make a difference as some are hesitant to fix all warranty items and some will only do it if you complain enough. Still others have different ways of handling the warranty issue such as the roof above. Some dealers are replacing the entire thing! The probem is I don't take my car to the dealer to get service done (they are more expensive) and I feel if I'm only getting warranty work done they'll scoff at me a little

I don't know if you close but try Glendale Infiniti! They replaced my steering wheel, cluster rubber thing, and the trim on the sides without any hesitation!!

Is this what you guys talking about! Just went out and saw these tiny cracks!
