rotors?

tried removing the rotors and had a bitch of a time getting them off. i was going to turn them instead of chaning them so i couldnt really bang on them. but they were really on there, just curious if there is some hidden bolt holding them on like my acura had? i plan on sprying them with rust remover and heating them up with a torch, just want to make sure im not missing something before i beat on them alittle bit

no, there is nothing holding them on. I forget if there are holes in it so that you can screw down a bolt to get them off. On the rears, make sure the e-brake is not on.

You had a hard time getting them off? Something is not right about that.

could be just rusted on nice and tight.
or maybe the e-brake is on even slightly, that would make it hard to take them off

^ make sure the e-brake is off. The rears are a little more difficult to remove than the fronts but it can be done.

Spray a little bit of PB where the studs come out of the rotor, wait a few minutes then tap the perimeter with a rubber mallet to help with loosening things up.

On the 06 coupe there is a little short bolt that sticks out of the rotor hat. It has a small metal collar on it. You remove this bolt and then remove the little collar from it. You screw the bolt back into the hole it came out of and it bears on the hub. Keep driving it in and the rotor will pop off. The rears do not have this bolt but there may be a hole you can use with the bolt from the fronts. Not sure.

Rotors can get frozen on the hubs and can be very hard to remove.

on 2nd gen 07-08 they should just float on the hub when you brake. Sounds like something is not right or on the rears the brake is on!

That's the way they fit on the 06 too. The only thing that actually hold the rotor on the hub is the lug nuts. But, all that heat, plus rust, fuses them to the hub pretty strongly. That is why they include that "special bolt" (quote from the shop manual). Just search on youtube and you'll see people have to wail on the rotors to get them off.
