Just bought a G35 sport...M35/M45 fitment questions.

Hey guys. I just bought a White/Tan 07' G35 Sport with tech/prem last week and loving it so far. I was driving an 02' Acura TL type s before so this is a nice little bump. I want to eventually upgrade the wheels to the 19" five spoke split M35/M45 wheels and wanted to know if they will fit without any issues. What's the range of offset and tire sizes we can go without fitment issues?

They'll fit fine, although they won't be anywhere near flush to the fender w/o spacers.

So do you mean it just wont stick out as much? Does it make a difference? Is there anybody on the forum with this setup?

Any less flush than the OEM wheels? I can't imagine they would be, my OEMs are already not completely flush with the fender.

If so, any suggestions on spacers? Size? Brand? Place to buy?

I think you should get the rims first and then decide if you want spacers. On a stock suspension, 15mm spacers work well. I would get H&R DRM Trak+ spacers--worth it.

People have been putting M45 wheels on 2nd gen G's since they came out. Many use spacers.

Are spacers difficult to install?

Completely irrelevant to your questions but.
I had the same exact car 03 TL-S white/tan. Sold that this summer and got my 08 G35xS tech/prem.
I must say as well an amazing upgrade but don't you feel that the throttle response for the first second or 2 on the TL-S was much more responsive?

Not sure if the TL is Drive by wire setup or an actual cable setup. I would reset the ECU on your vehicle and drive it like you stole it for 100 miles for ECU to learn your driving methods versus previous setup. Also helps to reset ECU after mods to let it relearn the changes.

Hmmm...didn't really notice but maybe I'll test it out since I still have the TL. What I did noticed though is that the G35 revs faster than the TL like the gas pedal is really sensitive. Also, when I'm cruising at like 3000k RPM on the TL it'll stay at 88mph. With the G35 it stays around 75mph so it feels like it's on overdrive or something. Is this normal?

I was just thinking this the other day and was going to create a thread asking about it. Over the weekend I helped a buddy move some cars and drove a Nissan Maxima and a BMW X3. The first thing I noticed was how much faster and more exciting the throttle response on BOTH of them was than my G. It really bothered me because I felt like my G was lagging.

I feel like it was way more responsive when I first drove it. My daily driving is pretty minimal as well, slow driving, stop sign to stop sign kind of deal.

Is this a normal feeling or is it one that my CPU programmed into the G?

Those rims look awesome on a G35. I was wondering where could you find them at a good price. Also for a stock G35, how much of a spacer would you need on each wheel for it to look flush with the fenders.
