I put only 3 coats of nite shade on my tail lights. I was trying to keep it simple and legal!! Plus, I don't like dark dark tail lights!

I was thinking of clear too! They look dull in person! I will probably apply one more coat and then clear! What kind of clear do you recommend?

Is their a certain way to clearcoat aside from procedures I would use to normally clearcoat anything else?

Eibachs! Front 19x8.5 245/35 +30 and Rear 19x9.5 +40 275/30! I removed the tail lights instead of masking the whole car! Cleaned the tails! 1st light coat, 10min, 2nd light coat, 10min, 3rd light coat! That's it! Someone recommended clear coat but I haven't tried it yet!
Looooove those lights Sal! Very nice, the color just flows with the shade of the car. Clear-coating them would certainly make them ever better.

Definitely on my list of DIY mods, 2 to 3 light coats of shade, clear coat and polish. Love the look, not too dark. Classy.

After tinting: 2 light coats Niteshades, 3 coats clear
Still looks OE, just not bright red.

That's what I'm talking about! Did you remove the tail lights of just taped the hell out of the car's rear? Any suggestions af far as the process (wet sand, polish, etc)? Great looking car.

I removed the lights and highly suggest that you do too. prep, clean, wet sand, 2 light coats niteshades, wet sand, clear, wetsand, clear, wetsand, clear, wetsand, rubbing compound. There is a good video series on youtube to get you confident about the whole thing.
Make sure you clean the rubbing compound from the lens edge (inside edge) all the way around (before you reinstall) because you can see any residual. I had to remove the taillights one more time to clean the stuff from the crack all the way around because I didn't realize you could see it--a pain.

Some of the tinting looks really good!!!
BUT, about slammed into the rear of a honda with tinted taillights about 1 year ago.
It was night and rainy. Had no idea that he had his foot on the brake....until almost too late.
If you are going to tint your tail lights, just please don't drive at night.....especially at night in the rain!!!
