Happened to the black pillars on my wife's car from window cleaner overspray on a hot day.

How do you guys wash your cars during the winter since its freezing? i just got my car in august and dont know what to do to wash it during the cold months ( i never want to take it to a car wash). how do you keep your rides clean?

Usually I put a lid on my grit guard bucket of hot soapy water and head over to the car wash, at night, when it's not busy. There is usually no one there after 8ish, so no one to get pissed at me for hogging up a bay.
I can wash and dry it pretty well the same as I do at home, with the proper mitt and towels.

If we get a mild winter day I'll wash it at home in the garage.

I go to the self service car wash across the street. Their hose sprays hot water and you usually have enough time to dray it off before it freezes

Look into Optimum no-rinse car wash solution. I tried it last winter and it works remarkably well. Requires a little more work than regular car washing but I don't like to take my car to a car wash either.

Get yourself the Optimum no-rinse, some microfiber wash cloths, a 3 or 5 gallon bucket, a , and you are all set for winter washing in your garage!

Rate increases are subjective to each policyholder and policy, not whether or not it's a comprehensive claim. Underwriting will determine all of this. More importantly, I find it troubling you would suggest somebody commit insurance fraud to get a paint job...

How is it fraud if his paint is ruined and it was not his doing, fine then tell then you went thru a car wash and it ruined ur paint, they will still cover it but it will be a bigger pain in the *** for you cause they will want to sue the car wash to get thr money back.

If you want to keep paying ur insurance and not use it then go ahead, I'm paying $400 a month so unless you pay more don't be bitching about how insurance skyrockets blah blah blah cause I've had 2 claims on my car and neither cost more than how much I've paid them.

insurance keeps your car in the condition it was when you signed up for ur policy, you hit another car, they fix it, you hit a pole, they fix it, you get keyed they fix it, as long as you didn't key ur own car it's not fraud.

Only thing is some things fall under collision and raises ur rates.

Stinks that this happened to you but it is repairable and having the correction done, your car is going to look 100% better than it did before you went through the wash.
