Painting stock calipers.

Your opinion on the color I paint them would be appreciated. I'm gonna paint them very soon with the G2 kit I have heard about on this forum. I just can't decide what color. I got an infiniti caliper sticker set for 8.50 on ebay also. The wheels I buy in the future will be all black as well. Varrstoens or coupe 19's. I am going to upgrade rotors soon but not the calipers, FYI.

Color Matched (Red)
or
Blood red (Darker)
or
Black

White

Lots of threads on the subject of painting stock calipers. I wouldn't recommend painting your stock calipers any color that would attract attention to them. Black or silver are the only colors I'd recommend, but IMO leaving them unpainted is even better.

My personal opinion: Black and Silver would be the best choice on stock calipers!! Any other bright color would look rice on stock calipers (except Akebonos)!

I actually want to paint my Akebonos black now! They currently red! I like them but I want something more subtle, more OEM looking!

I think silver or grey looks cleanest. It shows dust more than black does, but once it's painted, the dust wipes off readily.

I used this paint and probably have the same stickers you found (the mt. fuji emblem)
Just a light rub down w/ steel wool, a spray w/ degreaser & a good rinse. Then you just shoot the calipers after taping off what you don't want painted and drive it hard w/ a lot of braking to bake in the paint. I ventilated the spray away from the car so no overspray issues. Haven't taken any pics of just the calipers but here's a couple pics of the front brakes for reference.

I say get different rims 18'+ and then get some BBK and then you can paint them or get them in the color you want.

Wheels are in the future, I don't have 2k to spend right now. I just want to keep myself busy with the car. I am going to paint them black most likely. That shouldn't attract any extra attention to them but when you look close at the wheels it will look clean. ***, its threads like this that nudge me towards a Akebonos or Stoptechs etc......Thanks for all your input guys.

Those wheels look like different G sedan 18's powder coated. Those calipers look good. Ditch the rest of the chrome if your gonna run all black wheels though. IMO. To each his own for sure.
